Tena ra koutou ki nga hau e wha – Greetings to everybody. Today is the exciting day of our first colour run fundraising event. By the time this newsletter goes out, the event will be over and we hope that everyone will have had an enjoyable time. Our fabulous parent support group have done an amazing job of organizing this event. Our thanks and appreciation go out to them and to all of our families for supporting the children with obtaining sponsorship. We also thank you all for supporting our Easter raffle. The Year 5 and 6 students head away on camp next week, which is the final week of this first school term. We know they will have a fabulous time. Thank you to the teachers for organizing this camp, and to all of the parents who have offered to help out with transport, supervision and other camp-related activities. We couldn’t have these great activities for our children without your support. The school will be a busy place this weekend. A Tae Kwon Do seminar is taking place in the hall on both days, and the special kiwi release event is happening throughout Saturday, which is based in the library and Pod 3. Daylight Saving changes this weekend and clocks go back an hour on Saturday night. Have a wonderful weekend and holiday break. Please have a look at this mountainous pile outside Pod 4 by the last day of term, as any items left will be donated to charity. Thank you. Black uniform bottoms compulsory from Term 3 (short, skorts & trousers). Girls may wear black sockless leggings (tights) under shorts and skorts. Black long-sleeved tops are allowed under polo shirt.     The triennial election for representatives on the Board of Trustees will be held this year. Nominations will be called

    by 10 May, voting papers will be issued by 29 May and voting closes at noon on 7 June 2019. The voting roll may be

    viewed at the school office from 8 May. Please give some thought as to what you could offer to the governance of our school and whether you would like to

    be nominated for a role on the Board. Being a school trustee is a very important role and we are very appreciative of the current trustees would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge their dedication,

    Pukenui Forest Kiwi Release

    Saturday 6th April 2019 Pōwhiri at 12 midday

    Meet the kiwi at 1 pm

    Hurupaki School, Kamo. Free entry.

    Come meet the kiwi that will be living in Whangārei City!

    The ceremony will involve the blessing of the kiwi by local Kaumātua, a short talk about protecting the kiwi and a show and tell with the kiwi.

    Bring a gold coin if you would like to help support the kiwi in Pukenui.
