Many of them

are children.

Children confront these dangers every

day. Road Safety Education helps them

confront this life-and-death challenge.

Community

members are

aware of road

safety

issues, and they

want to be

involved in the

solutions.

Fleet Forum, in partnership with SIDART and

supported by UPS India, has developed a

Road Safety Education Programme for

children.

Input was sought from children, parents, teachers, and community members in the creation of the materials.

There are 30

Road Safety

activities in

each of three

modules for

various ages.

There are 12

community

activities that

support children

and build their

understanding of

road safety.

Students are very responsive to the

materials and eagerly participate in the

activities.

Cost of Child Road Safety

Package: RS1200 per child

per year

Child Road Safety Package includes:

• 30 road safety activities that will be conducted in and around the

school on a weekly basis by the teachers

• 12 community activities to support the children in building their

capacity and to raise their awareness about road safety, which will

be conducted on a monthly basis and managed by a project team

member

• A full day of Child Road Safety Education teacher training

• Guidance and support in implementing the Child Road Safety

Education Package (max. 3 hours per week)

• Monthly monitoring and review meetings to discuss the results

• All materials that are needed to conduct the school activities:

-A module with worksheets for the children

-A teachers’ instruction guide

-Arts and crafts materials to support the activities
