1. BRIEF NARFATIVE a. 1 to io January 1952 During this period of operation the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines

was assigned the mission of Division Reserve. Extensive train­

ing was conducted in compliance with Battalion Training Order

7-51 and improvement ot the reserve area was daily routine. On

10 January 1952 at 0008I all units of this command departed to

relieve the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines on the Minnesota Lina.

b. 11 to 31 Jan11ary 1952 Line positions were occupied and patrol action was continuous.

On 30 January 1952 the Battalion entered Regimental Reserve.

2. CHRONOLOGICU W.RftATIVE

01 January 1952

The strength of the battalion this date was USMC Officers 38

USMC Enlisted 986i· USN Officers 2 USN Enlisted 39. The battalion

was located as fo lows. One (1) section of machine guns from

Weapons Company on outpost #1 1 one (1) section of machine guns

from Weapons Company on outpost #2. All other units of 1/7 were

located within C.P. area in the vicinity of DT298205. All units
