Our rating & descriptionThe ancient Castello, former residence of Leopold II Grand Duke of Tus-

cany, is situated between the renown cities of Siena and Lucca, in a

triangle of high quality wine production, such as Sassicaia and Ornel-

laia. Today this magnificent “Historical Residence”, offers the chance to

experience history with all the modern comforts of the XXI century. With

its 10 rooms it can welcome up to 20 people. The castle is open during

the summer months and is rented weekly as an exclusive, private villa.

The Castle is accessible by a lane, lined with cypress and pine trees, at

the end of which the impressive gates open onto the front garden with

private parking. Passing through the entrance hall, one-steps into the

rose garden; an ideal place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the end of

the garden, separated by a smaller gate, is a swimming pool, open from

mid May to the end of September.

AccomodationsThe bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, are arranged on different

levels and individually decorated. Each is provided with mini-bar, air

conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, and safe.

Four double rooms, 5 suites and a superior suite, “Gran Duca” are avail-

able.

These beautiful bedrooms are furnished with antique furniture, hand

decorated ceilings, frescoes and numerous precious objects.

WeddingsWhat a splendid venue if you wish to celebrate your special day in be-

tween history and nature…

On entering the rear garden of the Castle, via the glass doors at the

end of the entrance hall, there is a well kept rose garden and lawn area

with comfortable outdoor furniture. It is an ideal place to enjoy special

welcome cocktail for your wedding guests. To the right, there is another

beautiful area with chairs, tables and canvas umbrellas, where we can

have the aperitif buffet dinner or dine wedding dinner served.

The frame is “perfetto”, a day you will never forget.

FacilitiesThere are so many activities you can enjoy while a guest at The Castle

such as:

Wine Tour Olive Oil Tour, Wellness center, Boat trips, Cooking lessons,

yet Town & City Tour and so on.

As this is a land notorious for the production of DOC and DOCG wines

known all over the world, one of the activities that we recommend is a

tour of the local producers, such as Sassicaia and Ornellaia. We advise

you to book this in advance directly from the castle. Visits can be per-

sonalized according to your taste and expertise.
