For it to reach its 12th edition, this small, elementary histology book must supply a student need. It now contains a few basic references to electron microscopy and some relevant illustrations. There are two coloured plates and a brief bibliography for further reading. The quality of the publication is excellent. Beitrage zur Angiographie chirurgischer Lungenerkrankungen. By H. H. LOHR, W. GRILL, H. SCHOLTZE and P. SCHOLMERICH. (Pp. 1-58; 43 figures; DM. 24.) Stuttgart: Georg Thieme. 1964. This book is really intended for chest physicians and surgeons. It does, however, contain a substantial section on techniques and normal anatomy, together with some excellent angiographs. There is an extensive bibliography including the principal literature con- cerning the normal. The monograph is well produced and attractive. A Synopsis of Surgical Pathology. By WILFRED KARK. (Pp. iii+426; 26 figures; 45s.) Bristol: John Wright and Sons Ltd. 1964. Apart from brief excursions into the normal histology at the commencement and the pathology of each tissue and organ and a few embryological considerations, there is little here of direct interest to the teacher or student of anatomy. The book, however, contains a wealth of information concerning pathology and could serve for quick reference. There is a useful bibliography and a good index. The illustrations are confined to line drawings and are few in number. Symposium on the Prognosis of Malignant Tumours of the Breast. Edited by P. DENOIX and C. ROUQUETTE. (Pp. 13-233; illustrated; £6.) Basel: S. Karger. 1963.
