available to residential and small commercial customers
at no additional cost.
• It gives customers the detailed information they can use
to better understand electricity usage in their home or
business.
• With online access to usage information within two
business days, customers can take a closer look to see
when they are using energy.
• Eligibility requirements: The advanced meter service will
be limited to the first combined 5,000 LG&E and 5,000
KU residential electric (RS rate) and small commercial
(GS rate) customers who sign up for this service.

DEMAND CONSERVATION

PROGRAM DETAILSWith Demand Conservation, customers are helping manage the community’s energy demand. More than 170,000 customers are already participating.
• The Demand Conservation device is attached to your home and connected to your central air conditioner or heat pump. This helps manage energy needs during peak energy-demand days for the entire community.
• The device is used to briefly interrupt your A/C’s cycles on “peak” summer days and reduce demand for electricity.
• Devices are cycled for a maximum number of 20 days a year, and typically not on weekends or holidays, and customers participating in the program report they feel little to no difference in their home’s temperature on the days we cycle the devices.
BENEFITS• Earn up to $20 in summer
energy bill credits every year you stay enrolled in the program, $5 a month June-Sept. for each device.
• Additional bill credit amounts are available for additional devices connected to electric water heaters or in-ground pool pumps.

FRIDGE AND FREEZER RECYCLING

PROGRAM DETAILSThis program helps customers haul away and properly
recycle their old, inefficient but working refrigerators and
freezers to reduce energy consumption and demand.
• Appliances must be full-size (7.75 cubic feet or larger),
empty, operational and accessible for removal.
• No dorm-style fridges please.
• Weekday, evening and Saturday pickups are
available by appointment only.
BENEFITS• Earn $50 per

PROGRAM DETAILSThe Online and On-Site Home Energy Analysis programs help customers identify areas where they can reduce energy use and make energy-saving improvements.
• The Online Analysis is offered at no additional cost and generates a customized report based on the customer’s actual usage.
• The On-Site Analysis begins with an on-site home assessment and customized report developed by a certified energy analyst.
• Customers who complete the improvements from the On-Site Analysis and obtain energy savings in their homes of 16%, 20% or 30% in energy savings in their homes within 36 months of the analysis visit, may also be eligible for monetary incentives up to $1,000.

PROGRAM DETAILSResidential customers may qualify for cash rebates ranging
from $50 to $750 per item when they purchase qualifying
ENERGY STAR® certified appliances, HVAC systems,
window film, and high-efficiency replacement windows.
To receive a rebate, customers must complete a rebate
application and submit proof of purchase and supporting
documentation.
Visit the official ENERGY STAR website, www.energystar.gov,
for the most current list of eligible appliances and products.
