The PIMD Analyzer of MPDevice can perform passive intermodulation measurements on major RF bands.
The model of RP • RPF • RPD meet several field applications; such as single reflection, both transmission and reflection and reflection of combined bands.
All models have internal intermodulation levels of -130 dBm during the measurement of third-, fifth-, and seventh-order products as well as deliver a maximum output power of +46 dBm per each tone.

Operating Description
The PIMD Main Box contains two-test sources, amplifiers, combiner, receiver filter and controller. It generates combined two-tone signals, that are sinusoidal signal having a predetermined frequencies (down link range in mobile network) as F1 and F2.
The two-tone signal are supplied to the device under test (DUT) and reflected wave including passive IM components generated at the input of DUT are passed to the Same port. ThE Receiver Filter screens only receiver range signals (up link range in mobile network) and enables to measure the composite of IM by external spectrum analyzer with easy. The RPF model has another Forward Function Unit to measure IM caused by DUT-output port i.e. Forward IM.

The innovative concept of implemented in the RP • RPD • RPF series enhance the analyzer's performance in terms of measurement speed and accuracy. Customers need a PIMD analyzer that is configurable to meet today's needs, yet is upgradeable at a reasonable cost to satisfy future requirements without shattering your test equipment budget. MPDevice's PIMD analyzer deliver the highest performance and the highest value available today.
For extreme requirements, consult withtechnical and helpful field and factory support engineers for custom solutions.
MPDevice provides this high level of performance so that our customers can develop their own state-of-the-art products. With communications systems sharing single antenna and becoming more complex, the IM analysis also becomes more important. For example, when the RP model is used as PIMD analyzer the benefit is clear, a wider spurious free dynamic range - 130 dBm.
Any one of the RP • RPD • RPF series is ideal PIMD Analyzerfor an A.T.E. system. It operates in 19-inch standard EIA rack space.
The Anritsu 2712E series are recommended to expect higher throughput, built-in software co-working with commercial PC using a remote command.

Custom designs
In recent years, with the development of wireless communication industry and the shape increase of the communication system demand, there is the design requirement for high performance, reliability and economic feasibility .
Typically, a wireless mobile communication system has a possibility to increase inter-modulation of signal, since many users are communicating by using only several adjacent channels in one antenna. Consequently, there is a possibility to increase damage and distortion of information signal.
PIMD (Passive Inter-modulation Distortion) if occurred after production, almost impossible to recover. So it is becoming an issue in process of improving the wireless communication equipment of AMPS, CDMA, GSM, DCS, PCS, WCDMA & WiMAX bands with high power and maximizing use of channel at each frequency band.
Also, PIMD has been a topic of much discussion as a contributor to performance degradation in mobile radio system.
In addition to providing standard PIMD Analyzers, MPDevice has been supporting customers with custom-engineered solutions. The most mutually beneficial solution (for the customer and MPDevice alike) is the selection of a standard product; however, MPDevice continue to support customers when special models are required.
Product specifications that involve a reasonable first-order quantity and follow-up potential are welcomed.
