Sharing hope and joy in the midSt of cancer.

It is hoped that the contents of this booklet

may brighten your outlook as you undergo

your cancer treatments. The regimen of

radiation and/or chemotherapy is neither

easy nor convenient. The wide range of

emotions, fatigue, and the common side-

effects as well as the tedious day to day

hospital visits soon become a burden that

weighs heavily on even the strongest of

people.

Little did I know the difficulty that I would

face as I started my radiation treatments.

My youngest daughter Hannah presented

me with a ring of note cards that contained

38 Bible verses. She placed a sticky-note

on the front of cards that said “38 Days to

a Radiating Faith”, the number of radiation

treatments that I was scheduled to take.

What an encouragement!

It was not only thoughtful of her, but

the verses were an added source of

strength for me. I would read this each

day before receiving my treatment. It not

only encouraged me but as I shared this

with other patients that were awaiting their

appointments, it encouraged them as well.

One lady with tears in her eyes remarked

after reading the verse for her particular day

“why don’t you make that into a book so

others can read it”. What a great idea!

God has blessed me with a supportive wife

and three very talented daughters - Jennifer,

Lindsey and Hannah - who have all helped

make this booklet possible. God has enabled

us to print and distribute this book. I trust it

will bless and strengthen you while counting

down the number of your treatments and

continuing your fight against this disease.

Remember, the road of life is not always

smooth. There are many mountains on this

journey but we do not have to travel alone.

God’s promise is that He “will never leave

us nor forsake us. Lo I am with you always”.
