First Party, Debut, Grand Opening Tips:  

Book in 7­10 days from ordering your Starter Kit.  Check with your Recruiter or Director if they are able to attend.  Invite everyone you know!  Priority of debut is to let everyone know you are now in business.  Text, Facebook, Email, Tweet or Mail your invites. 

Book everyone who can NOT attend.  Your first goal is 30 faces in 30 days and she can help you get there.  “I’m sorry you are unable to attend but you can still help me get started because I need faces to practice on and I’d love to get your opinion of the New Mary Kay.  And if you share your makeover with friends, you can get free products.  When’s better for you, day or evening?” 

If less 6 guests, then hold a regular makeover using the Beauty Book.           If more than 6, then you may opt for “hand show and tell” and then book all the guests for an “on the face” makeover. 

Refreshments are after drawings so keep them simple.  Offer beverages before makeovers/show.  Mary Kay asked that we don’t serve alcohol because of liability and to always act like a lady. 

Pre­profile your guests to confirm their attendance and to be more prepared.  Just ask the first 3 Q on the Card...they can complete at party. 

Be sure your Agenda is marked with when you can hold your future appointments for easy scheduling. 

Add cotton balls and cotton pads, pens, q‐tips to your Starter Kit.  Do you have inventory to display and sell?  Set it out in pretty containers to draw more attention to your “store.” 

Keep glamour to Dash­out­the­Door so they will book their follow‐up with you to try more!

Understanding Inventory …will you be a Business Woman or a Brochure Lady? Starting your MK Business with Inventory is a very important decision. Here is a plan to take you step-by-step on how to start your business as a professional. I want you to be successful so I will share my opinions with you, but ultimately this is your decision. Your FIRST ORDER is your most important because of all the Bonuses you can earn.

If you were opening a Coffee Shop, you would consider your options from what coffee to offer, to the chairs, to the design of your sign, to whom you would hire professionally. She will call YOU for reorders! Women do not want to wait for mascara or worse, go without a product while waiting, plus there are drugstores on every corner to compete with. If you have it, she will call YOU.

More likely to up-sell. If you have the lip liner and lip primer, you can up-sell her to buy more with her lipgloss. If you don’t have it, you won’t think about it.

YOU will have a professional attitude. If you have it, then you’ll say “check out my stuff.” Consultants with a store, do sell more.

No Cancelled Orders. If she takes it home with her then there is no order to cancel.

You Will Save Time! On-the-spot Delivery. You take the order, deliver the order and collect the money

right then. Deal is done and off to the bank you go! Children understand this concept. Lemonade stands have the cups filled with drinks, they don’t post a sign, “Wait while I go inside and have my mom pour some for you.”

Order Once a Month. You only order when you need to restock your store instead of rushing around to get an order in because other customers are waiting. Plus, ordering once a month means unloading, labeling, and putting up your inventory only once a month which saves you time.

know that you have it so they can buy from you. If you were starting any other business, you could be paying $2000 just for the attorney or $10,000 for the franchise contract. Set yourself up for Success.

2. Mary Kay offers Consultants a 90% Buy Back. If you decide to quit and return your inventory, with the understanding that you can’t ever rejoin… Mary Kay will reimburse you 90% of all inventory purchased in the past 12 months. Amazing that MK actually guarantees the Business Opportunity!

3. Fear of failure. Success is up to YOU. The only way to fail in MK is to quit or to not try at all. 4. Fear of Loans and Paying it off. The amount of Free Products given to you by Mary Kay Inc for your

Even at the $4800 Pearl Level, selling a minimum of $400 a week (one party and one makeover), you could pay off your initial investment in just 6 months!
