Dear  Liquid  5K  Team  Leads:    Today,  more  than  2,000  children  under  the  age  of  5  will  die  from  diseases  caused  by  dirty  water.  1  in  9  people  worldwide  lack  access  to  clean  water.  Liquid  Church  wants  to  help  change  that…  and  YOU  are  part  of  our  inner  circle  of  leaders  helping  to  save  lives!    Thank  you  for  volunteering  to  be  a  Super  Hero  Team  Lead  at  our  5K  on  Saturday,  May  11,  2013.    We  will  have  more  than  2,000  Superheroes  running  and  walking  a  5K  together  in  Morristown  to  fight  dirty  water.    As  a  Team  Lead,  you  will  be  a  KEY  part  of  our  success!      We’ve  included  lots  of  great  information  on  the  easy  steps  to  register,  create  your  team  fund  raising  page,  and  invite  your  friends  to  join  you.    We’ve  also  provided  ideas  on  how  to  reach  our  fundraising  goal  of  at  least  $200  per  person.    With  your  encouragement,  we  believe  your  team  can  help  lead  the  pack  as  we  fight  dirty  water!      Remind  your  team  members  that  registration  is  only  $25  per  person  by  April  1st  -­‐  prices  go  up  after  that!    Kids  under  18  are  just  $10.    Our  B-­‐I-­‐G  push  is  to  register  1,000  people  by  April  1st!        We’ll  be  taking  a  Super  Hero  Team  Lead  picture  tonight  for  our  Facebook  page  -­‐  share  it  with  your  friends  and  invite  them  to  join  your  team!    So  put  on  your  mask...and  join  the  fight  against  Dirty  Water!

BUILDING YOUR TEAM

TEAM NAME – Be creative! Have fun! Make sure everyone knows what your team name is so they can select your team name when they create their own fundraising page.

INVITE – Friends, family, co-workers, gym buddies, Life Group, Clubs, Civic Organizations. Let people know this is fun OR serious – runners and walkers welcome! For the serious runners, we will have timing by CompuScore, and times will be posted online. We have a special staging area for mobility-challenged participants including wheelchairs and strollers. We want EVERYONE to participate! HOW PEOPLE CAN JOIN YOUR TEAM TO RUN OR WALK

APRIL 1 – Encourage everyone to register by April 1 (end of day) so they get the discounted $25 registration fee! COSTUMES – Although not required, for the “fun” runners or walkers, this will make the day even better! Costumes do not have to be expensive or fancy – in fact the goofier the better. PRIZES – On the day of the race, after checking in, gather your team together and have your picture taken at the COSTUME PRIZE TENT!

Follow these super simple instructions and people will support you in the cause.

STEP 1 - Ask 5 Close Friends for Help

Before you send your sponsorship page to everyone you know send it to a small group of family and friends that you know will support you. You want to have some sponsorships already on your page before you blitz everyone you know. Here is a sample email to send to these close friends … remember send this to people who you are almost 100% sure will support you. (Your mom, generous Aunt Gertie, your boss … you get the idea!)
