Day 1 Day 1 Day 1 Day 1 MORNING After a short 15-minute drive from the airport, check in at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon ideally located on top of one of Lisbon’s seven hills and offering breathtaking views over the city. EVENING Enjoy a white Port or a 10 year Porto flip on the terrace of the Ritz Bar. Out for dinner at 100 Maneiras in the old quarter of Bairro Alto, with more then a hundred Portuguese wines to offer. Follow dinner with drinks and dancing at Silk, a private members only club uniquely set on the top floor of the high- est buildings in Chiado. EVENING Enjoy Pascal Meynard’s gastronomy at Varanda Restau- rant overlooking the Eduardo VII Park. AFTERNOON Hop on the famed “28” tram, which winds through Lisbon’s cobblestone streets and historical sites. Hop off at Praça de Camões to visit the Chiado district with its esplanades and picturesque shops. Hop back on the “28” tram pass the Cathedral Sé and jump off to enjoy the amazing view at the Santa Luzia viewpoint. Walk down the quaint neighborhood of Almafa and then up the hill to St George Castle. Back to the hotel to browse the Hotel’s 600 museum-caliber pieces of Portuguese contemporary art. Visit the regional capital city of Evora (listed as a UNESCO heritage) with its white washed facades and roman ruins. AFTERNOON The medieval walled village of Monsaraz perched above the river Guadiana on the border with Spain is one of the most atmospheric places in Alentejo. Next step will be Vila Viçosa with its 16th century Ducal Palace, an example of the imposing lifestyle led by the Royal family of Braganças. AFTERNOON

Enjoy a scenic drive with a small detour to see Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost landfall, with its stunning cliffs overlooking the ocean. Drive down to Guincho beach for a lunch at Porto Santa Maria, renowned for the best fish and seafood in the area (check the clams “Bulhão Pato”, the “Carabinheiros” shrimps or a fish cooked under a pure salt crust). Drive down to the old fishermen’s village of Cascais considered now the Portuguese Riviera. Walk the streets and do not miss an ice cream at Santini...

MORNING

Your day excursion will start with a visit of the Queluz Palace, a masterpiece of baroque architecture. You will then head toward Sintra (a UNESCO world heritage town) to visit the famous Sintra and Pena palaces , venture through its tiny streets and taste the delightful “travesseiros” pastries at Piriquita.

EVENING

Dine in the outside courtyard of restaurant A Travessa, a former convent in the Lapa quarter. Book a table for a last drink in one of the famed fado houses to listen to Portuguese typical melancholic songs.

AFTERNOON

The afternoon will be dedicated to explore Portugal’s most romantic medieval village, Obídos. Cobblestone streets lined with colorful geraniums and bougainvilleas, gothic doorways and windows, flower-pots and dazzling tiles, all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle.

MORNING

Day excursion to discover the region located North and West from Lisbon. The town of Mafra, home of the grandiose National Pal-ace which King D. João built to compete with Spain’s Escorial. Do not miss the library, one of the finest in Europe deco-rated with precious marble and exotic wood. Lunch in Ericeira, a fishing village perched on cliffs over-looking the Atlantic ocean. EVENING

There is no better place than the comfort of your own room to bid a last farewell to Lisbon enjoying a refined room service dinner on your terrace.

AFTERNOON

Visit Belém, a waterfront tribute to Portugal’s Golden Age of nautical adventures. There, you will find the Monument of Discoveries, the Hieronymites Monastery and the Tower of Belem (those last two being listed as UNESCO Heritage). Art lovers should not miss the Berardo Private Collection at the Cultural Center of Belem, featuring contemporary pieces from artists such as Picasso or Warhol. And finally, taste the unique “Pasteis de Belém”, custard tart which recipe has been kept a secret since 1837.

MORNING

Book a private visit of the Fronteira’s Palace, a privately owned property superbly decorated with furnishings and works from the 17th and 18th centuries.

EVENING

After such a unique day, treat yourself with a dinner in either of the two Michelin star restaurants in Lisbon, Eleven located 5 minutes from the hotel on top of Eduardo VII park or Tavares Rico with sen-sational young chef José Avillez.
