She later transferred to New Mexico State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Individualized Studies with an emphasis in Digital Film. CrissieB then played professional basketball overseas. CrissieB re-alized that her passion for music could no longer be ignored. Now residing in New Jersey, surround-ed by the sensation of musical success in the tri-state area, she hung up her jersey and earned a Master of Science Degree in En-

tertainment Business from Full Sail University. Her transition from scoring triple doubles on the court to being R&B’s only female triple threat has been an easy one for CrissieB, since she’s always kept her ear to the speaker throughout her college and bas-ketball career, teaching herself how to use various music soft-ware such as Reason, Pro Tools, Logic and Native Instruments Maschine to make beats and re-cord. Through CrissieB Produc-tions, she produces beats for her-

self and other rising talent. Now, CrissieB is preparing her play-book to take the world by storm with her new EP “Dope Expecta-tions.”

CrissieB.Artist,, Producer, Songwriter. Dope Expectations

Now on iTun

CrissieB: S/o to my team “OhSoDope Crew” BMA and Jerrod Starling. We’ve got a lot of things to look forward to in the near future. Also special thanks to Filly The Class Loser, Naymez, and A-Natural for their contributions. Then the

biggest s/o’s go to Alicia Houston, Ja-nine Davis, all of my wonderful friends, family and fans, without each and every-one of you, there would be no Dope Ex-pectations… so thanks for everything.

CrissieB: Acting is definitely something I would eventually like to get into later on down the line.

4EM: Is there any underground or mainstream artist you would want to collaborate with?

CrissieB: I definitely want to collar with Ro James, Pr3p-E (I was on a couple of tracks on her project), a guy name Young Future, Natalie Imani, A-Natural and I’m sure there’s more.

4EM: Your upcoming EP “Dope Ex-pectations” is scheduled to drop this month, what do you want listeners to learn about you and your music from this project?

"I want them to learn just how dope they are to me"

4EM: Who are some of your favorite artist?

CrissieB: Some of my favorite artists are Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Kelly Row-land, Missy Elliott, Tweet, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Keri Hilson, The Dream, Drake and the list goes on and on.

4EM: Which of those artists would you say influences your music most?

CrissieB: I would definitely have to say Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Kelly Row-land, Keri Hilson, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu…wait I’m pretty much renaming my previous list.

4EM: You went from Pro Basketball overseas to recording artist, are there any other areas you would consider pur-suing in the entertainment industry?

4EM: When did you first know you wanted to pursue music as a career?

CrissieB: When I got my first key-board in the 5th grade, that’s when I discovered my passion for music. I started producing before I even knew what it was. But in the 10th grade, I had made up my mind, that I wanted to do two things in life…play professional basketball (which I’ve done already) and be a big time music producer/songwriter.

"I had my mind made up"

CrissieB: I want them to learn just how dope I am and how dope they are to me. I want my fans and listeners to know that I am more than just an artist. I am a CREATOR. Besides singing, I also pro-duced, recorded, wrote and mixed about 80% of this EP!

4EM: Do you have a certain process for writing or do you wait until inspiration hits you and then write?

CrissieB: Honestly, I rarely ever “write”. I can’t remember the last time I actually “wrote” a song. I just like to go in the booth and hum, or sing whatever the music tells me. 4EM: Is there anyone you would like to shout out to?

4EM: First off I would just like to thank you guys for taking the time link up with me today to bring our readers a differ-ent side of our entertainment industry. TSO: Our pleasure bro thanks for having us! 4EM: Can you all introduce yourself to our readers and let us know where you're from? TSO: Well I'm T.S.O 1 half of the Lite Co. From Chicago, IL (south side.) GV: I'm God's Vision originally from Cincinnati the other

half of Lite Co. I now reside in the Chicago area. 4EM: With names like those, there has to be a story behind them. T.S.O What exactly does that stand for? TSO: Totally Sold Out that's my everyday goal to find away to say everyday I gave him (God) my all. 4EM: God's Vision, Your name should be self explanatory to most but how did you decide on that name? And was it the first one you came up with? GV: Actually, when I started doing music for God I said

Page 9: 4Eight Media Magazine: June 2014/Issue #1

Visionary and TSO called me God's Vision and it stuck. Means so much now. My motto is "Through the eyes of God ev-erything is made manifest." 4EM: That's what I like to hear when it comes to artist, that they put thought into more than just their beat selection. So, how did Lite Co. come about and what's the meaning behind the group name? TSO: Well we started off in a 3part group, our other brother Eddie had to take a step back due to family & other obligations he had ministry wise, so we was like "we need a new name" and Lite Co was birthed. Basically comes from Matt 5:14 we have to be the lite to lead to the people out of the darkness. G.V: Yes sir, that's the mission. It was the thought of what people do when the power goes out, people call the lite com-pany. So it's more of the general name. Nobody wants to be in the dark in any aspect. 4EM: You both have a clear vision of what you all are striving for, so this project should be something to remember. Let our readers know a little more about the album you all have coming out. Have you all decided on a title yet? TSO: Well the project is called POWER LINES it got some dope production on there one of Chicagos coldest "Zoemane" "Ciddyboy South" out of the A, "Geeda" who is basically the Dr. Dre of CHH and "Jimmy Natural" he has a dope sound similar to Kanye out of H-town! 13 dope tracks all together no rap features, we wanted the fans to get a feel for us on this one. G.V: Well it's our first collaboration after doing our thing as solo artist under the LMG umbrella. The title of the album is A play on words meaning the lines have power, people are out of power so the lines are down and we've come to restore it. 4EM: How was it collaborating on this album together? Was the creative process better than working on solo projects? G.V: The resources we had together made it crazy because we built something on our solo linking with so many different cats. TSO: Umm it's real easy to work with someone who knows you for the most part. It flowed pretty smooth, we both brought alot of ideas to the table. It's a different format on alot of the records you hear. G.V: It's like two roads finally intersecting. TSO: And I gotta give a lot of credit to my lil bro Zoemane not just for his production on the track but he recorded, mixed and mastered the whole joint. Lot of times we got the records back sounding better then what we laid down, he just has a vision when he has your music of what it's missing and what it needs. G.V: We brothers before anything so we have had our issues wit just different personalities and the way we move but we never fell out TSO: Naw we fell out one time (lol) I'm your Geronimo type, just jump off the cliff no shoot on. GV is ur let's map this out from A to Z & it brings a lot of balance.

"Labels come fom the audiences perception"

God's Vision &

T.S.O

4EM: lol, well you can't really be family without any dis-agreements. The important thing is what happens after you disagree. Having a good partnership when working opens up your creativity and makes the process of creating some-thing unique a better experience. How did you choose what songs would be used for this album? Was there an elimina-tion process or did you envision what sound or message you wanted to convey and record tracks that fit that aspect? G.V:Lol TSO: We left a lot of good music on the table but we want-ed to project to fit & not sound like a mix tape just cuz some songs was dope but it didn't blend. G.V: Yeah we worked to have something different and well rounded. Funny cuz we started out doing a mixtape but it turned into an album. ... 4EM: Now, I spoke with T.S.O about a week or so ago and he mentioned that you all had a couple of singles that you plan to release before the actual album drops. Are those two singles still the same or have you decided to switch them up? TSO: They the same 1st single ALL GONE feat Chris Searcy will be out next week 4EM: Nice, I'll make sure the 4EM readers are kept up to date on that one. G.V: I was hard deciding on a single that showed who we are and the message. We wanted something not just to show skill but something that was universal. 4EM: Speaking of a universal message, would you say this album is more "content for the soul" or "Content for the mind"? Will it make listeners think or is the message straightforward?

TSO: You never can tell till the ppl get it in there hand it's mos def Christ centered tho but not ur get saved or Die & burn type of gospel. 4EM: T.S.O, your answer brings me to this next question. Do you all feel that you all are looked at as "Christian Rap-pers" or "Christians that just happen to rap? And what do you feel will set this album apart from other Christian art-ist? TSO: We don't run from the title of Christian Artist bro We never have. For as it being set apart I believe that it will impact anybody life who listens to this project in some way shape form of fashion. G.V: Crazy you asked that bro. Labels come from the au-diences perception. 4EM: God's Vision, you are absolutely right, it is audience perception. This is why I love what I do, because I get a chance to introduce people what I feel will be amazing music no matter what genera or label anyone else puts on it. For the person who hears this album for the first time what do you both hope they take away from it? G.V: For fellow believers we want them to know that this walk can be hard but our God is harder. We have an ex-ample to set and we can't compromise because of feelings or things that seem to be more pleasing than HIM. To un-believers we want them to know that we are regular people who know an incredible savior and that serving HIM is rewarding. TSO: ^ what that guy said!!! G.V: Also, Christians do make quality music. 4EM: Now you two have something special going on with

the purchase of this album. And I also hear that there could be an app from you all as wall. Care to elaborate? TSO: Yessir app is Lite Co will be available same week as the single, and we haven't ironed out all the details of the release so I don't wanna speak on pre maturely 4EM: Ok, that's understandable. I'll make sure to get an update on that closer to the release. And what is the release date for "Power Lines?" TSO: Man who knows lol tentative jun 23 G.V: what he said lol 4EM: Lol. Let's hope that the stars align for you all with the release date. Last but not least before we wrap this up. Is there anyone that you all want to give some major shout outs to? TSO: Everybody who rocks with us and those who been supporting us from day one. 4Eight Media for the cover, Zoemane for all his hard work on this project he like the 3rd member of the group. My Uncle Dr Bobby L Scott for getting behind the project. G.V: Yes sir. Our producer Zoemane and the whole Noisegate studios family. Our families and spiritual leadership. Got to give love to One stop productions Dr Bobby L Scott TSO: And all the radio and Djs who stay playing our music. 4EM: Where can our readers find Lite Co if they wanted to follow you all on twitter or Facebook? TSO: Facebook is Lite Company , Twitter is Litecolmg, IG is Litecolmg also. 4EM: Well once again fellas, I want to thank you both for giving your time to our readers to learn more about Lite Co. I look forward to hearing some great music from you guys. TSO: Man appreciate you and everybody over at 4Eight Media, 100 fam G.V: We really appreciate you bro.

4EM:First I would just like to thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions for 4Eight Media and our readers. Just for starters, when did you first know you wanted to pursue music as a career?

Jakia:** I have always had an admiration for music. I have played the drums and the flute; I have participated in the choir, and I have danced. I decided to take music to the next level when a knee surgery prevented me from dancing. I have been pursing music as a career for about 10 years now.

4EM: Wow, 10 years is a long time. Over time I know you’ve got to have artist that you’ve admired and looked up to. Who are some of your favorite artist?

Jakia:** Janet Jackson, Beyonce, and Michael Jackson are amongst the many artists who have influenced my music. In addition to their vocal skills, I admire their ability to dance to enhance their performance.

4EM: Which of those artists would you say influences your music most?

Jakia:** Janet Jackson because she is a well rounded entertainer. She has sex appeal, an amazing voice, and eye catching dance skills.

4EM: How would you describe your style of music?

Jakia:**I would describe my style of music as RnB/Pop. Pop has an upbeat tempo, which makes it easy to dance. RnB has a soothing, soulful vibe, which I also enjoy.

4EM: What other avenues would you like to pursue in the entertainment industry if it wasn’t music?

Jakia:** Dancing for sure because I love to dance. I would also like to do acting; I believe that may be a lot of fun.

4EM: Is there any underground or mainstream artist you would want to collaborate with?

Jakia:** I would love to do some work with Jhene Aiko, I like her laid back vibe. If given the opportunity I would love, love, LOVE to work with Bruno Mars one day. He is very talented.

4EM: How did you link up with Corporate Kaos Music Group, and what is it like being the first lady of the label?

Jakia:*** I linked up with Corporate Kaos through a friend from college. He spoke highly of the label. Being the first lady is amazing. It’s like being the little sister to many big brothers.

4EM: Being the only lady signed to CKMG how do you vibe with the guys on the label?

Jakia:*** I vibe well with the guys. I’m pretty chill and laid back and so are they so we have a lot of fun.

4EM: Do you have any upcoming events or projects out now or that you’re looking forward to?

Jakia:** Yes Indeed! I have a few shows coming up very soon. I will be opening for T,Pain, in addition to a few other gigs. I also have a new project on the way that I will be releasing in April.

4EM: Is there anyone you would like to thank?

Jakia:** Of course I would like to first thank the Lord because without him none of this would be possible. I would also love to acknowledge, my motivation and inspiration, my mother, father, and brothers. My mother has always told me I can be anything that I want and she has always supported me. I must give a Shout out to all my friends and family that continue to support me through this journey. Finally I’d like to thank my team CKMG for their hard work and for believing in me.

4EM: Jakia, we wish you much success in the future and hope to hear more from you soon. Thank you again.

"The owners of 4HFA are Up For Discussion"BY Eric "Ciddyboy South" Johnson

4EM: On behalf of 4Eight Media I'd like to thank you all for taking the time out to answer a few questions this morning. I know every one is busy, so I appreciate you for participating. Michael Levell: "Thank you for hav-ing us."

4EM: I’d like to start off by asking each of you to introduce yourself for our readers, State your Name, where you’re from and your roll as part of 4HFA. HFA: "Hello. I am Michael Levell from Atlanta, Georgia. I am 1/4 owner of 4HFA." - "My name is Marlon Copeland , I'm from Atlanta Ga and I'm one of the 4 owners of 4HFA." - "My name is Rashad Davis. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia and I'm one of the owners of 4HFA."- "Antwon Smith from Atlanta Georgia and 1/4 owner of 4hfa"

4EM: Ok, I see we have a lot of owners in the building. So How did the name 4 Home Field Advantage come about? And who's initiated the partnerships? Michael Levell: "I can answer that one .Marlon Copeland contacted each of us and inquired if we was willing to make our daily conversations into a business. With all of us having more than the standard view of sports, we all agreed that such a move would be ex-tremely beneficial. After the initial co-versations, we all congregated at a fa-mous restaurant in East Point call Chic A Loes. Being in East Point made me feel nostalgic because I hadnt been to

my home city in a long time. It was there that we came up with the name Home Field Advantage. We make the cornerstones of the company so we added 4 to begin our journey. " 4EM: That actually seems like a smart move. Turning something that you all do on a regular basis into a viable business. What is each of your favor-ite sport, and whom from that sport do you admire the most?

Antwon Smith: " Football is my favor-ite sport and Barry Sanders was that dude, he only won 1 playoff game but he proved as a player and a man what commitment and sportsmanship was as an American athlete" Rashad Davis: " I'm definitely a MMA guy. I admire Anderson Silva because he had a lot of odds against him but he's proven to be the best in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts." Marlon Copeland: "As far as watch-ing , I love to watch Basketball and Charles Barkley is someone I admire on and off the court , As far as playing I'm a avid baseball/ Softball player and I admire me because I'm that good ! lol jk "

4EM: *laughs Michael Levell: "Excellent question. My favorite sport is American Foot-ball and it has been every since I was 5 and my dad bought me my first Dallas Cowboy helmet. I admire Hines Ward because he played the game with more passion than skill and"

4EM: Now I'm sitting here thinking about this next question but from the answers you all just gave, I can only assume the answer to this. But Out of the 4 of you, who makes it hard to stay serious when discussing a serious is-sue on the show? Who's the one crack-ing jokes off from the jump? Michael Levell: "Marlon Christopher Copeland. This guy can't stop laugh-ing when he finds ANYTHING fun-ny. " 4EM: *Laughs "And you know it's serious when the whole name gets called." Marlon Copeland: "I think it Depends , I think we are have our moments." Antwon Smith: "I think our chemistry makes us all humorous to one another" Marlon Copeland: "I will say I love being on the set with these guys, It's never a dull moment." Michael Levell: "Antwon is as serious as your uncle when he has had a 5th of gin. His "sayings" can relieve tension at the Democratic Convention."

Antwon Smith *Laughs Rashad Davis: "Usually, it’s Marlon with the jokes. He always has a joke or a crazy story."

4EM: Now I've had the pleasure of sit-ting in on a show, Antwon I didn't have the pleasure of meeting you then.....

you then, but I was truly amazed with how well you all work together. Do you all think this chemistry you all have will con-tinue to grow your fan base? And what ways do you all reach out to interact with your listeners? Antwon Smith: "I think our chemistry has grown tremendously in the time frame we have been doing this, I interact with my listeners by way of social media or in person" Marlon Copeland: "I do think our chemistry will help our fan base grow because everything about us is genuine and when people see that you are authentic they relate to you. We use social media to reach out the the people and we also pound the pavement . We all don't mine the grind to get our voice heard." Michael Levell: "I think our chemistry is definitely a breath of fresh air to our fan base because they can tell that its natural and they can relate to that. It is because of that chemistry that we make an effort to not become haughty." Rashad Davis: "Definitely, our chemistry is being who we are on an everyday bases and that helps the fan base relate to us as

a whole. No need to be like everyone else and you already have the tools." 4EM: And I definitely hear that genuine quali-ty when listening to the show...Every show no matter what it is has that one thing that makes them stand out. What do you all feel is the most important aspect of your show? What's that one segment that you all can't go without? Michael Levell: "The content is the most important aspect of the show. We dont speak on sports reporting as much as we speak on sports lifestyle. We speak on the subjects that we need to have dialogue about and we do it in a way that's understood by the listeners. Sports crosses a broad spectrum so its pivotal that we do so as well. We will never get rid of our time with our listeners. We don't want to talk all day. Having a "show for the people" means we need to spend more time listening than speaking. Marlon Copeland: "I think the most important aspect to our show is our authenticity , we are

just simply different than other shows when it comes to content and I'm truly proud of that . As far as segments I think we are still working on that but I think the creative juices are flowing and you will hear and see some funny segments in the near fu-ture." Antwon Smith: "The most important aspect of the show is giv-ing our listeners our view of the world's of sports as we see fit"

Rashad Davis: Debates are most important by far. The way we debate is very different than most sports blogs, sports shows or conversation in general."

4EM: So are there Any kind of sports situations you find most stressful to report on that were discussed for a show but never made the cut? Marlon Copeland: "We like to take on the taboo stuff, we have a hard time wanting to discuss the generic sports stories. Some-times you have to talk about the basics but it's a killer. For ex-ample we did a generic show a few weeks back it was not in depth at all and as a group we didn't like it but it was one of the

4 Home Field Advantage "Up for Discussion"

necessary punishments" Antwon Smith: "I think there isn't any stressful situations some situations require more research than others, as far as making the cut nothing comes directly to mind because we choose our topics as a whole."

Michael Levell: "No situation is off topic for us. We pride ourselves in being open to any discussion. That's why we named the radio show and videos "Up 4 Disscussion". I will say that I am careful of how I speak about rape and domestic violence because I know the effect it has on our community." Rashad Davis: "No topic is stressful to report. It’s our job to report all events to the people of 4HFAdvantage. As far as topics not mak-ing the cut, we come up with a bunch of topics every week so, there will always be a great topic that might not make the cut." 4EM: So with taking on the taboo and being open to any discussion, do any of you find it hard keeping up with every sport and the news that surrounds them?

Antwon Smith: "I would say at times because some sports have multiple stories that are intriguing. But it's part of the job nothing comes easy. Marlon Copeland: "Yes , We have never talked about Hockey and that's unfair however it's not as prominent as the big three, Soccer is growing states side with our youth and professionally, honestly we have to grow ourselves and take that challenge." Rashad Davis: "There are a lot of resources these days. If it’s a big story, it shouldn’t be hard because it’s always in your face. It’s our job to research." Michael J Levell Its not hard to keep up with every sport. Its only a challenge. Like Antwon said, its part of the job and we will make it happen. I always like the saying: "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't wanna work" 4EM: It seems to me that you all have a bright and successful path ahead of 4HFA. What is the ultimate goal for you all? As far as the company. Michael Levell: "Our goal is to change the way we appreciate sports opinions. Sports is so diverse that there is often no real answer to

Page 24: 4Eight Media Magazine: June 2014/Issue #1

any sports question. We want the world to appreciate what is different from the norm." Marlon Copeland: "It's a cliche but the sky is the limit for us. We just have to continue to work hard and see where our hard work takes us but I truly love what we are doing. Think Big, Work hard & Acheive success !Rashad Davis: "We want to make our mark in the sports entertainment and continue giving sports fans a direction outlook."

Antwon Smith: "The journey may be long but we can get it done." 4EM: One last thing before we wrap this up. A while back you all had a Flag Football day and invited your listeners to come out and hit the field with you all. Are there any plane for more things like that to come? Antwon Smith: "Yes, we have a few events in the very near future, You have to give back to the people/listeners who support you " Michael Levell: We want fans to know we are accessible. I'm just not getting dunked on if I can help it. Rashad Davis: That was just the beginning. We have a lot things in store.

Marlon Copeland: We are actually sponsoring T.I. vs Floyd Mayweather in a Chicago street fight, the winner takes Tiny!

4EM: Well fellas, I wish you all great success in the future and I want to thank you all again for giving us your time.
