4 Power Supply and Earth Installation

This chapter describes the procedure to:

Install power cables in the cable tray

Connect protective earth cable (GND)

Connect the 230 V mains power supply cables

Install the batteries

Test the power supply installation.

Before making any electrical connections to the rack, ensure that the safetyinstructions are applied.

It is essential that:

the electrical power supply is disconnected. Ensure that all switches or fuses

devoted to the new RACK into the site connection box are switched OFF

due to the high leakage current, the protective EARTH must be connectedto the equipment before AC or DC power cable connection.

The weight of each element of battery BU100 is 30 kg. Apply safety rules

to carry it

Use insulated tools when connecting

Batteries are delivered in fully charged status.

Procedure 1. Put the batteries in the compartment at bottom of rack (See Figure 16)

2. Put spacers between batteries

3. Fix the batteries to the rack with strap (See Figure 20)

4. Connect the cables between the elements of batteries (See Figure 21or Figure 22)

5. Connect positive and negative cables to the battery pack
