In a Couple of Weeks Chapter Members Will Be Voting on This The below request from Miles for approval of changes to our bylaws is one of the necessary steps to complete our name change and domicile change. The main reason this was done was to protect our place at the Clam Festival, our major source of income. I put forth to the Board revised changes to the chapter bylaws consistent with the recent changes to our name and registered agent with the Secretary of State. Thank you. 1.) I propose that "Portland" be changed to "Yarmouth" in the heading to the bylaws. 2.) I propose that Article I, Section 1.01 "Name; organization" be struck in its entirety and replaced with the following new Section 1.01 in lieu thereof: "1.01 Name; organization The name of this organization shall be "The Downeasters" (hereinafter called the "chapter") of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Incorporated. The chapter is organized and exists pursuant to the provisions of Article III of the bylaws of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Incorporated, a not-for-profit corporation (hereinafter called the "Society")." Thank you. Miles C. Hunt, Esq. Dow's Law Office, P.A. P.O. Box 349 266 Main Street Norway, ME 04268 Jerry wins the 50/50 Jackpot

As I was looking at our Annual Show Poster I saw Kirk Young of the Average Joes. Which made me think of another quartet that Kirk sang in, with Chris Peterson, Michael Martin and Larry Bean, The Management! They started with Jim Fortin as Bass, who decided to leave and was replaced with Kirk. In fact, the first competition I was in, I remember that they were rushing to get Kirk’s Society Membership to him before they sang... I thought of how entertaining they always were, and the first time I saw them. My Dad and Mom took me to see them and they were amazing. I remember during the Mills Brothers Medley when they sang ‘Cab driver, once more around the block’, they were standing as if they were in the cab and leaning into the turn… Their first, self-titled CD is available on iTunes and is really worth downloading. I searched on YouTube and found that there were 5 videos posted by TheDodgegirlie... It looks like the videos are from the last time we saw them perform at our 60th Annual show and AfterGlo in 2009. There is so much more that could be said about these guys who are the only quartet to receive the NED Barbershopper of the Year Award! Interested gentlemen should contact me at [email protected] or phone (207) 773-9766. Thank you for your consideration.
