With over 7 major digital systems and over30 analog formats available, universalcoverage of radio systems is provided.

The compact design provides major benefits in productivity, saving both spaceand weight over competing solutions. Thelarge easy to read screen is invaluable formanual operation and the on-screenmeters give clear indication when adjusting equipment remotely. Clear layout, softkeys and cursor keys providean intuitive user interface.

Fast measurement combined with accura-cy provides an ideal solution for manu-facturers of digital radio terminals. GPIBprogramming or connection to a LANserver allow flexibility in automated test-ing. Programming measurements is easyusing the AUTORUN feature. Editing on aPC with the ARE software package allowsprograms to be rapidly created or modi-fied from the extensive Willtek library.

Using plug-in modules and memory cards,the 4032’s modular design ensures easyupgrading. Modularity preserves theinvestment value and allows new systemsto be tested as radio technologies matureor requirements are modified. With the4032’s consistent screen layout, GPIBcommands, and simple memory card soft-ware installation, most technicians willrequire little training to use new modulesand features.

The 4032 provides base station testing forIS-54, NAMPS, D-AMPS, IS-136, GSM,CDMA, TETRA or ETACS. In many casesbase station testing can be automatedusing custom AUTORUN programs.The compact, lightweight design makeslife easier for installation and mainte-nance crews in confined base stations.

Network MaintenanceWith a sector or channel down, lost revenue increasing and customers becom-ing frustrated – there is no time to loose.The fast set up of the 4032 speeds uptroubleshooting. The accurate and cleardisplay allows fast and consistent meas-urements. Alignment of I and Q is simpli-fied using the constellation display. Min./max. average statistics make tuningmore convenient. The fast Spectrum Analyzer (up to 2.3 GHz) provides in- andout-ofband measurements for identifyingspurious signals or intermodulation prod-ucts.Optional tracking generator providescable fault indication.

CDMA Testing SimplifiedSpecial troubleshooting tools are avail-able for CDMA base stations at 800 MHzor 1900 MHz. The constellation displayallows the symmetry of the symbols to beviewed, whilst the Channel Versus Powerscreen displays the pilot and any trafficchannels. For many measurements includ-ing PN search funktions only an RF input isrequired, rather than the additional con-nection of Even Second Clock.Measurements include channel power,frequency tolerance, waveform qualityrho, carrier feedthrough, vector magni-tude and pilot time offset. In the codedomain the timing, power and phase ofeach code channel can all be measured.

Fast Constellation DisplayViewing the phase error, magnitude, RMSvector error, power and DP/Symbol helpsidentify NADC/ IS-54/IS-136 base stationerrors.
