What is a Balance Sheet?
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial state of the credit union on a particular date.
It tells us:• How much money have we?• What is the value of members’ shares?• What is the value of loans? • What is the value of the credit union’s reserves? • What do we own?• Who owes us money?
• Who do we owe money to?
End of month balance sheets should be seen at each monthly board meeting.
End of year balance sheets are part of the audited account on an annual return (CY).
