Das Passwort zu den US-Depeschen ist prinzipiell zugäng lich. Das fördert den Streit mit Konkurrent Openleaks. Die von diversen Medien nur in Teilen veröffentlich ten Depeschen des US-Außenministeriums sind prinzipiell im Netz komplett frei zugänglich. Das berichtet der Freitag in seiner aktuellen Ausgabe. Bisher waren nur ein paar tausend ausgewählte der etwa 250.000 sogenannt en Cables von Medien und Wikileaks selbst veröffentlicht. Das ist nicht nur eine potentielle Gefahr für die d amit offen genannten US-Informanten. Es ist auch ein wichtiger Punkt im Str eit zwischen den beiden Websites Wikileaks und Openleaks, andererseits ein wesentlicher von Openleaks-Sprecher Daniel Domscheit-Berg genannter Grund oder zumindest Vorwand, warum er keine Dateien mehr an Wikileaks h erausgegeben hat. Openleaks steht in Konkurrenz zu Wikileaks, beide a rbeiten derzeit an einem neuen Webauftritt. Wikileaks.org veröffentlicht nach einer längeren Pa use derzeit andauernd neue Depeschen. Das Budget unterliegt keiner Kon trolle der Bürgerschaft. Die Linke erwägt Verfassungsklage. Die Linkspartei geht dem Hamburger Verfassungsschut z an den Kragen - besser gesagt ans Budget. Fransen's suspicions about the responsibility of th e "employee" in Bellemare's bureau for composing this file never ca me from vainness, and Fransen is quite sure that the "employee" does not have the proficiency to compose such a file and that the file exceeds his e xpertise and authority. Too much, too soon? “I think that it’s premature. The government of Lib ya under Gadhafi is not completely overthrown as yet. Gadhafi is still at l arge. Nations are created by hist orical circumstances, and those circumstances have given rise to a Palest inian nation. Under the principle of the United Nations and the theory of t he right to national self-determination, which is the moral foundation o f the modern theory of nationalism, a nation has a right to a state, and t hat state has a place in the family of nations. In this sense, the U.N. vote will be unexceptional. However, when the United Nations votes on Palestini an statehood, it will intersect with other realities and other historical processes. First, it is one thing to declare a Palestinian state; it is qui te another thing to create one. The Palestinians are deeply divided bet ween two views of what the Palestinian nation ought to be, a division not easily overcome. Second, this vote will come at a time when two of Israel’s neighbors are coping with their own internal issues. Syria is in chaos, with an extended and significant resistance against the regime having em erged. Meanwhile, Egypt is struggling with internal tension over the fall o f President Hosni Mubarak and the future of the military junta that r eplaced him. Add to this the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq and the potential ris e of Iranian power, and the potential recognition of a Palestinian state — while perfectly logical in an abstract sense — becomes an event that can fo rce a regional crisis in the midst of ongoing regional crises. Nachrichtendienstler sind Messies: Sie suchen emsig Informationen und legen riesige Archive an. Wissen ist Macht - wenn man es allein hat. Umso mehr erstaunt die Information, mit der Bodo Hechelhammer , Leiter der "Forschungs- und Arbeitsgruppe für Geschichte" beim Bundesnachrichtendienst, kürzlich vom "Spiegel" zit iert wurde: Der BND habe in den Neunzigern gezielt eine Akte vernichtet, die des Eichmann-Freunds und NS-Verbrechers Alois Brunner. Brunner gehörte zu den berüchtigten Eichmann-Männer n, dem Team der SS, das maßgeblich die Vertreibung und Ermordung der europä ischen Juden organisierte. Noch im Juli 1944 durchstreifte Brunner Paris auf der Suche nach versteckten jüdisc hen Kindern und fand 250 Mädchen und Jungen für den letzten Zug in den Osten . Brunner konnte sich zu Recht rühmen, "Eichmanns bester Mann" zu sein. Im zentralen Fahndungsregister der Alliierten finde t sich Brunners Name unter der Nummer 140. Gefasst hat man ihn nie. Im M ai 1945 versteckte er sich in Österreich, später in Deutschland und schli eßlich im Nahen Osten bei Amin Al-Husseini, dem ehemaligen Großmufti von Jerusalem und Bewunderer Adolf Hitlers. Der Superintendent bescheinigte dem im österreichischen Linz aufgewachsenen Massenmörder Eichmann eine "grundanständige Gesinnu ng" , ein "gütiges Herz" und "große Hilfsbereitschaft". The Mediterranean Council for Intelligence Studies (MCIS) provides professional opportunities to publish scholarly articles in its Yearbook on Intelligence Studies, focused on illustrating new developments in the field, the issues related to modernization, reform, development, and mission tasking of intelligence and security services, as well as on analysing common security issues that affect the Mediterranean region, to propose best practices and possible solutions. Papers can be submitted also by non-MCIS members and by non-Mediterranean countries’ citizens. The only condition is that the papers should deal with the aforementioned subjects in the Mediterranean area.
