Divisions

Competitors must submit one entry form for each category and/or division entered. All Continuous Non-Contact Divisions will be single elimination. Divisions must have a minimum of four participants otherwise they may be combined or cancelled at the tournament director’s discretion. Notification of any changes will be given prior to the tournament day.

Awards:

There will be medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (equal thirds for Knockdown & Non-Contact), as well as first place plaques for all divisions.

Safety Equipment:

Properly sized and fitted mouth guards are mandatory for all divisions. Headgear is mandatory for all Continuous Non-Contact & Knockdown Divisions with the exception of the Open Divisions. Groin cups are mandatory for all Knockdown Divisions. The tournament will supply all headgear, chest protectors, shin guards and gloves for the children’s divisions. Adults are to supply their own equipment with the exception of head gear and women’s chest protectors.

Demonstrations:

Anyone wishing to perform a demonstration please submit your name and idea as soon as possible. Demonstrations are to promote the various aspects of Kyokushin karate. Some examples may include: Self-defense, Children, Kata, etc. and will be limited to 10 to 15 minutes each.

Tournament Officials:

Officials are required to register no later than Friday, April 25th, 2014.

All officials must hold a valid officiating certificate recognized by the IKOKC or IKO. Officials must sign in by 8:00 am on tournament day. Officials who do not sign in by 8:00 am will have their names removed from the officiating list. Tournament Officials will not be permitted to act as coaches within the Division groups in which they are officiating. These groups include Kata, Continuous Non-Contact, Children 12 & Under other Knockdown Division groups. Example: Officials for Children’s Knockdown may not coach in Children’s Knockdown. Please register online by Friday, April 25th, 2014.

Official’s Clinic:

Officiating clinics will be held in the various regions, times TBA. Please ensure you are familiar with the “Modified Rules” for Canadian tournaments.

Coaches:

Each participating dojo will be allowed a maximum of three (3) coaches in Non-Contact, Children’s Knockdown and two (2) for Knockdown. Please submit your names by Friday, April 25th, 2014. Names will not be accepted after this date

Dress Code:

Please be aware of the IKOKC dress code.

The dress code consists of black dress pants, an official IKOKC navy blue officiating shirt (must be ordered through the IKOKC) and the appropriate bow tie. If IKO certified, appropriate patch (on left breast of shirt), if IKOKC certified, Canada patch (on left breast of shirt). A Referee wears a white bow tie and a Judge wears a gold bow tie. Dress code for all officials will be strictly enforced! Tournament volunteers are to wear black dress pants, black dress shoes and the tournament volunteer T-shirt supplied.

Tournament Volunteers:

Please canvass your students and submit a list of tournament volunteers from your dojo.

Volunteers will be expected to help out for a minimum of four (4) hours (2 two hour shifts) during the day. If they have any experience in a specific area (ie: supplies, marshalling), or would like to volunteer in a specific area, please have them note their interest and tournament experience on the Volunteers and Sayonara Form. A schedule will be made up before tournament day and volunteers notified of their shifts and duties. All registered volunteers will be admitted free of charge and receive lunch and a 31st Canadian Kyokushin Karate Championships T-Shirt. Deadline for submissions of volunteers names Friday, April 25th, 2014. Volunteers will not be accepted on tournament day!

Tournament Lunch:

Lunch will be supplied for volunteers and officials who have signed up by Friday, April 25th, 2014. Tickets will be issued for lunch.

TEAM & GROUP CONDUCT AGREEMENT

We wish you a pleasant stay. In order that all hotel guests enjoy their stay, it is mandatory that all teams and/or groups agree to the following policies. The group or team leader is required to advise all parents and/or team members of the Hotel policy. GENERAL

• Rates as quoted and agreed to apply to all rooms occupied by the above noted group. • A credit card is required to process a $250 damage and disturbance deposit prior to arrival of the group.

Barring any problems, this deposit will be refunded in full at Check Out. Cash will not be accepted. • In the case of rooms being reserved and paid individually, as part of a team block, an additional damage

and disturbance deposit will be pre-authorized to the individuals credit card. • The use of Pay Movies, Telephones and Charging Privileges (‘Incidentals’) will be extended to those

guests who provide a valid credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners/EnRoute. Alternately, should you wish to restrict the use of Telephones and Pay Movies, please inform the front desk upon check in.

• If all room charges are billed to one account, only the designated group leader or his/her assistant (as noted below) is authorized to charge incidentals. Prior to checking out of the hotel, the group leader is responsible for all group rooms not occupied by any adult.

• The Hotel will assign all team or group rooms. For security and control, a maximum of two (2) keys per room will be issued upon check in. Please have all keys returned to the front desk at check out. Under no circumstances will additional room keys be issued to minors. Should extra keys be required, a Parent, Guardian or Chaperone shall accompany the minor to the desk and provide sufficient identification in order to be issued a new key.

• Each team or group will have a designated Chaperone(s) (Coach, Manager, etc.) responsible for the direct supervision of the team or group. This person (or authorized assistant) will be in the hotel at all times when the group is on the premises. If the team hosts an adult social function either in or out of the Hotel, the Hotel must be advised of the name and room number of the chaperon in attendance. Minors are not to be left on the hotel property without sufficient supervision at any time.

• Please be considerate of your neighbors. Not all our guests will be attending your event and therefore we expect your cooperation in ensuring a tranquil environment. Shouting, running in hallways or in rooms and slamming of doors will not be tolerated. The Chaperon will be advised of any disturbances to other hotel guests and /or damage to hotel property. The Hotel’s quiet time is between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Unregistered guests must vacate team rooms by 11:00 p.m.

• The team or group will be responsible for any damages to guest rooms or hotel property and refunds to other guests disturbed by the team’s conduct. These refunds and costs of damages will be billed to
