UK National Championships 23rd November 2013

The best tournament competitors from GKR Karate UK descended on Sheffield on Saturday, 23rd November 2013 for the UK National Titles. Everyone that was there to compete had won their place through the four qualifying tournaments across the UK in September 2013. Sensei Bob McCracken did the opening welcome speech, thanking the friends and family of the competitors for their commitment. After thanking the officials for the hard work they had yet to come during the tournament then the competition began. The action was fantastic, right from the word go! Every student was trying hard to get one of the treasured medals/trophies that were on offer for the top three in each event. After a fantastic day of individual events the team events started. The standard of the teams was fantastic in all divisions. The final events of the day were all the Open Finals. After some amazingly close scores the winners were: Jnr Male Kata Champion was Terran Singh Padda. Jnr Female Kata Champion was Kitty Lewis. Snr Male Kata Champion was Wil Brooks. Snr Female Kata Champion was Kirsty Brierley. The eventual winners in the Kumite finals were: Jnr Male Kumite Champion: Andrew McLarney. Jnr Female Kumite Champion: Rebecca Burnett. Snr Male Kumite Champion: Marlan Anthony. Snr Female Kumite Champion: Jessica Warden. Once again thank you for all your support and for your participation in our tournament during 2013.
