Regulation 9... requires symbols to be used "in accordance with the recommendations of the Organization." • The unique ability of Unitor Photo luminescent signs to illuminate immediately if power loss occurs will greatly assist personnel in the location of emergency equipment. • IMO Regulations recommend that the location of emergency equipment, assembly and embarkation stations should be plainly indicated by the use of appropriate symbols. • MCS/CIRC.777 states that "Assembly Station" has the same meaning as "Muster Station". • Letters or numbers should be used to identify assembly or embarkation stations. • The station letter or number should be placed on the right hand side of the safety sign, and should be compatible in its dimensions. • Signs shown in the appropriate sequence can be displayed at the Coxswain's position in a totally enclosed lifeboat, as a reminder of the sequence of actions which should take place during the launching of a lifeboat. • Symbols should be used inside survival craft adjacent to the relevant control or function to which they refer.
