ROC Low Voltage

• Wiener PL 500– 5 channel/crate– 1 - 2 channels per voltage for FEE

• Prototype used for tests– OPC from IT/CO

• Interface: Wiener OPC still beta version (delay ~1.5 y)• Hardware limitation:

– No indication of status (mainly needed for prototype and test, no access in Alice)

– No individual switching– Setting voltages only if crate is off

ROC High Voltage

• ISEG• Prototype for tests• Interface: OPC beta release (with problems)• Final (and last) in June (working to specs?)

– Final version: no individual switching on/off per channel

• Limitation of proto OPC (temporary solution)– No individual switching of channels– Not nice (but ok?)– No Hardware limitation (ref. to user manual)

ROC Cooling

• Wago μPLC Prototype tested– Ok– Not radiation hard– Study of thermal behavior of ROC/FEE

• 2nd Prototype:– ELMB solution– Under test/development at thermal Lab (CERN)– Set point for cooling plant

• Highest requirements on temperature stability– Prototype for all systems

Field cage

• High Voltage– Offers for Power supply– Interface to SCADA system

• I monitor– Design of circuit started– Interface to SCADA system

Laser

• No URD (on the way)• Discussions started• Items:

– Control of the two Lasers– Mechanical control– Control of camera

Gas system

• System is build (almost ready)• Control by gas working group• Link to DCS to be defined

– Reading of status– Reading of temperatures– ….– Only reading, no control

• Additional Sensors– Drift Monitor– Pressure

Controls Hierarchy

• Start simple for CERN test• LV an HV connection to devices

– Prototype OPC with limited functionality

• Complexity growing with time – Integration of additional subsystems

• Final system:– Number of FSM?– Grouping?– Discussion with HMPID

Miscellaneous

• Power for ELMBs (Switches, RCU DCS board?)• What Sensors when and where?

– Archiving

• Temperature sensors• Additional Sensors

– Pressure– ???
