Disaster risk management requires local governmentsto consider all of the information that identifies the
risks and hazards within the local community. Assituations change that may impact on hazards andrisks in the community, disaster risk management is afluid process.
It does not need to be a formal study, but needs to bea structured process that incorporates the likelihoodand consequences of hazards in priority.
The likelihood and consequences of hazards may be
gauged by looking at previous studies, but considerscurrent and future risks. Disaster risk assessmentneeds to be accountable, however
