Principal’s Reflection
29 October, 2014
Week 4, Term 4
Dear Families, You are invited to join us for our school All Saints’ Mass which will be held on this Friday 31st October at 8:35am. All Saints Day is when the Catholic Church commemorates every saint, known and unknown. The students from Room 2 and 17 have prepared the Liturgy and we would love to have parents, family and friends join us for the Mass.
Thank you students, teachers and parents for the time, generosity and enthusiasm that make our Mission Market afternoon a lot of fun as well as a very successful fund raising event for Catholic Missions.
Our school book fair held last week has been another great success with book sales totaling $4021.10. The school receives commission from these books which assists in purchasing new books for the school library. We greatly appreciate the support from families.
Tomorrow marks the end of our school two-week intensive swimming program. It has been fantastic to see the student growth in water confidence, stroke technique and water safety knowledge. Thank you to the Royal Life Saving swimming instructors who have taught our students, and a special thanks to Mrs. Paula Sellars for her work in coordinating this very important part of our school curriculum.
Peter Combes, the famous Australian children's entertainer and musician will be performing a concert for the whole school next Mon-day, 3rd November at 9:30am. Peter is famous for songs like “Wash your face with Orange Juice”, “Juicy, Juicy Green Grass” and “Mr. Clicketty Cane”. Parents and younger siblings are most welcome to attend. We again ask all families to advise us in writing of any changes to current enrolments or specific requests for child placement for con-sideration for 2015. We are currently in the process of placing students into their class groupings for next year. It is important that you inform us of any special needs for 2015. All requests must be put in writing and addressed to myself by Friday 31st October. If you are aware of relatives or friends who wish to enroll their children for next year, please encourage them to forward their applications as soon as possible so that we can include them in our class configurations. Thanks to the many families who have already finalised their school accounts for 2014. If you are having difficulties making pay-ments, please contact the office and make an appointment to arrange a payment plan. Mrs Alex Dywer -our book keeper-will be in touch with families who have outstanding accounts in the coming weeks. Payments can be made at the School office between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday, by cash, cheque or EFT. Credit Card payments can be made over the phone and electronic payments can be made directly to the school. God bless you all and keep you safe, Mr. Simon Duffy Principal
