Interior

Set perfectly on the centre of its plot which has a South Westerly orientation, this beautiful Grade II Listed family home is arranged over three floors and retains an abundance of original features which helps to create a warm and homely theme that continues throughout the property.

The doors to the main entrance and to the ground floor rooms have reeded architraves with corner rosettes whilst the plaster modillion cornices to the entrance hall provide a welcoming first impression which continues throughout the majority of the ground floor. In essence there are three distinct and principal reception rooms, two of which are at the front, providing a perfect setting for formal entertaining. The interior retains much of the mid nineteenth century joinery, including six panelled doors, window architraves, shutters, skirtings and chimneypieces with original grates.

It is a rare thing indeed for a true landmark house to come to the market in Teddington, let alone one that has been such a central part of village life for as long as ‘Adelaide House’. With its origins dating back as far as 1728, this was without question one of Teddington village’s most historical houses and one that is instantly recognisable by its distinctive façade, six-over-six pane sashes and its sheer prominence in the very heart of what is now Teddington town!

Externally

To the rear the garden enjoys a favourable South Westerly orientation enclosed by a high wall providing a great deal of seclusion.

This property is a true ‘treasure island’ within the heart of Teddington town centre.
