Background

– Geo-information covers all information that is linked in one or other form to a particular place on the earth’s surface (Ravi, 2003)

– SDI can generally be defined as the facilitation and coordination of the exchange and sharing of spatial data between stakeholders in the spatial data community (Crompvoets et al., 2004)

Yes, it is important, though we have

other higher priorities

Our new system will

solve all your problems

There are many

returns from SDI

The world will be a

safer place with SDI

No you don’t want that, we have

something much better

Why should we change? Our system

works.

Why invest? It will only cost

money.

What is an SDI, I’ve

never heard of it

Reorganize again?! We just had two large reorganizations behind

us!
