FARM ASSURANCE IS VITALLY IMPORTANT:

A number of abattoirs are now only accepting farm assured cattle and as such we strongly advise vendors to register with an approved body. This will give your cattle the greatest chance of achieving the best possible price.

CONTINENTAL BULLS TO £390/HEIFERS TO £260 Today saw quality and more quality forward with Blue bull calves in real

demand with 2 from J Sprake both topping at £390. It was a pleasure to see

Wardour Farms of Shaftesbury with their calf reaching £388. Medium bull

calves were a good trade with only the smallest under the £100 mark. A super

Limousin bull from BWR Hasell topped at £245 and a Simmental bull from the

Trowbridge family raced to £350. Heifers again found strong competition for the

best with Blue heifers topping at £260 from the Milton family. Plenty were £220+

be harder work under £100. Simmentals met a fierce trade with FR Cox’s

heifers charging to £250.

NATIVE BULLS TO £312/NATIVE HEIFERS TO £235 Once again Angus keeps getting dearer, an absolute stonker of a trade today

with the best bull to £312 with well over 20 calves over £230. Medium sorts

would be £180 - £160 and smallest to £100. Herefords are still rewarded for the

best calves seeing P Wade’s bull sail to £265, with others to £195 from D & J

Garrett. Angus heifers followed the trend of the bulls with best regularly to £100

to top at £125 from Chris Legg. Smaller calves to £50 with all looking well sold.

Hereford heifers topped at £235 from the Garretts and £200 from P Wade.

Smaller end and medium sorts looked good value to the rearer.

FRIESIANS TO £76 FLECKVIEH TO £352 Rearing Friesians again in real demand with a top price of £78 from LK

Farming. Plenty £75 - £70. Fleckviehs have stormed over the line today with the
