Flor:
Todas las observaciones se efectuarán en el momento de la apertura de la flor femenina.
Fruto maduro:
Por fruto maduro se entiende el fruto listo para ser cosechado.
Pedicelo:
Todas las observaciones del pedicelo se efectuarán en frutos maduros.
Semillas y cotiledón:
Todas las observaciones de semilla y cotiledón se efectuarán cuando el fruto sea apto para el consumo, o sea maduro.
El presente manual está realizado en base a las características especificadas en el Documento TG/270/1 (Directrices
para la ejecución del examen de la distinción, la homgeneidad y estabilidad para Theobroma cacao L.) publicado por la
Unión Internacional para la Protección de Obtenciones Vegetales (UPOV).
Explicaciones a ciertas características :
Salvo indicación de lo contrario, todas las observaciones deberán efectuarse en cinco plantas o partes de cada una de las
cinco plantas, el número que habrá de tomarse de cada una de las plantas deberá ser de dos.
Brote joven/hoja joven:
Todas las observaciones del brote joven y de la hoja joven se efectuarán sobre la base de la estación en curso, durante un
periodo de crecimiento activo (brote).
Hoja
Salvo indicación contraria, todas las observaciones de la hoja se efectuarán en hojas maduras de ramas sin fruto o ramas
que no muestren indicios de nuevo brote en la parte externa del árbol. Las observaciones se efectuarán en el tercio medio
del brote de la estación en curso.
