4th Generation Solar PV Panel
AmpEl Energy® Thermo-Pneumatic Storage• incorporating the N-Gen® Patented
Turbine and Super-capacitor system• can operate in normal Rankine
Cycle or Organic Rankine Cycle or combined cycle mode
N-Gen® Gas or Liquid Turbine• can operate as a
liquid/gas turbine with Liquid or Gas fuel back-up;
Collectively, the system can;1. produce base load power and around the clock from any renewable energy source;2. Store energy mechanically and thermally for well over 100,000 cycles (which is 10 times battery life)3. Stabilise grid power;4. Provide energy security comparable with fossil fuel;5. Achieve Levellised Cost of Energy below 4 c/kWh and 0.10 SAR/kWh;6. Eliminate the use of batteries and the associated environmental issues relating to its production and end of
life disposal;7. Be fully recycled after its expected life of 30 years.

The other issue is battery Life – typically ranging
between 2 to 10 years, depending on;
• Electrochemical cell design;
• Depth of discharge;
• Temperature; and
• Number of cycles
The Technology (key competitive advantage)
• The Amp-El Energy® Storage System is a Thermo-Pneumatic integrated
system that is reliable and more cost effective than any other Energy Storage
System currently available on the market today.
• The system is capable of storing energy from any renewable or non-renewable
energy source such as Wind, Solar Thermal, Solar PhotoVoltaic (“PV”), Hydro,
Geothermal etc. reliably for peak-shaving and base-load power supply during its
project life of 25 years, which is well in excess of 5 to 10 times the life of
conventional electro-chemical battery storage.
• The system controller detects excess renewable energy and reroutes it to the air
compressor which charges a bank of compressed air cylinders. The excess heat
during the compression cycle is vented to atmosphere.
• When the demand surpasses the renewable energy supply, the stored
compressed air is then released and heated (to augment performance) via a hot
fluid tank (heated by solar thermal collectors) before it is expanded through our
Patented N-Gen® Turbine to generated the appropriate amount of electrical
energy.
