PRESIDENT’S WELCOMEI would like to welcome everyone to the 143rd Allora Show. I hope you all enjoy your time throughout the jam packed weekend of events. My thanks goes to all the exhibitors as the past year has been
felt to the extreme. Please give yourself a pat on the back for making this another memorable event. To the public, an extra shake of the hand or just congratulations to the winners and participants. It is a heart-felt thank-you during these trying times. This year has an extra challenge added to our organising of our show with STRICT COVID REGULATIONS IN PLACE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SHOW.
Don’t miss the Bull Ride on Friday night as another round of the Border Region Buckle Series goes ahead with the Junior Bullriders going for a buckle in the Series as well. There is everything from the schoolwork, to the flowers, artwork and a Wildlife Show, kindly sponsored by Allora Landcare, in the shade of the pavilion. We’ll have face painting and a balloon artist for the kids.
The Poultry Club is running a Twilight Show to avoid the heat affecting the birds. You will need to come early Saturday evening to look at the Poultry Pavilion before taking your seat in the grandstand for a full line-
up of evening events. The FMX Motorcycle Spectacular is back by popular demand, the Smash up Derby can’t be missed and weather permitting another amazing Fireworks display by our local provider.
Before finishing, I would like to thank all our volunteers. As well, a huge thank-you to all the sponsors for putting your hands into your pocket in these difficult times as without you, we wouldn’t have a show at all.
Have a safe and fun 2021 Show!
Mark Pillar (President)
The Allora Show Society Inc. extends its gratitude to the Queensland Government for the grants approved for 2020/21 under the Show Societies Grants Program administered by the Department of Local Government.

BY-LAWS AND REGULATIONSMEMBERSHIP AND PRIVILEGES
1. A subscription of $40.00 shall constitute Annual Family Membership, giving admission to the Annual Allora Show, Stanthorpe, Killarney and Warwick Shows.
2. A subscription of $20.00 shall constitute Annual Single Membership, giving admission to the Annual Allora Show, Stanthorpe, Killarney and Warwick Shows.
3. Entrance fee for all exhibits must be paid at the time of making the entry, with penalisation of double fee for late entries.
4. All exhibits in the pavilion will be judged on the first day of the show, and must be delivered to the stewards not later than 9.00am on that day.
5. All stock, including dogs, must on the day of the show be the bona fide property of the exhibitor (with the exception of family groups) from date of entry, and all other exhibits must be the production of the person exhibiting. Exhibitors, if called upon, must sign a declaration to that effect.
6. Entries in the livestock section will be taken as guaranteed that the exhibit is free from disease. In case of infectious disease being spread through a violation of this regulation, the exhibitor must accept the consequences. Should there be a reason to suspect that any exhibit is either dangerous or diseased, the committee reserves the right to refuse admission to, or to remove same from the grounds at the expense of the exhibitor.
7. The Society will not be responsible for any accident caused to, through, or by any exhibit or person, and will not under any circumstances hold itself responsible for any loss or mis-delivery of livestock or other exhibit of any kind, or any damage done thereto.
8. All the exhibits must be delivered to and from the grounds at the risk of the exhibitor.
9. All exhibits must be on the grounds at the stated time in the schedule or, if not stated, no later than 9.00am on the judging day.
10. The judges of any section may recommend extra prizes, but it is understood that the recommendation is of no force unless ratified by the committee.
11. The judges will have power to withhold any prize if they consider the exhibit of insufficient merit.
12. In classes where there are other exhibits worthy of notice, besides those to which prizes will be given, the judges may award Certificates of Merit to such exhibits, viz., “Highly Commended” or “Commended”.
13. No entry will be received from any person disqualified by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies during the period of such disqualification. Should any entry be accidentally accepted, it shall, wherever discovered, be deemed void, and the entry fee be forfeited.
14. No entries will be received except on the condition that all disputes, objections and protests shall be decided by the committee of the Society (or a majority of those present), whose decision will be final.
15. No protest will be considered unless lodged with the Secretary in writing, before 6.00pm on the day of the competition, enclosing $50.00 which will be forfeited to the Society’s funds should the protest be considered frivolous. Protests will only be received from winning competitors in class questioned.
16. In case any dispute may arise as to the construction to be put upon any of the By-Laws and Regulations, the same shall be determined by the committee of the Society, whose decision shall be final.
17. In all Maiden Competitions horses must be maidens at the time of starting, not at the time of entering. A maiden is an animal that has never won a first prize in any similar competition to that for which it is competing.
18. An exhibit entered in the wrong class may be transferred to its correct class at the discretion of the judge.
19. No exhibitor or his agent shall be permitted to be with a steward or judges during the time of judging, unless by special request of the steward.
20. The By-Laws and Regulations comprised in the model uniform schedule compiled by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, except where such may be modified or added to be the Special By-Laws or Regulations comprised therein, shall be conditions of competitions, and all exhibitors and competitors shall make their entries or enter into competition on this express.
21. All cattle must be dehorned or polled not more than 5cm (2”), unless breed has an exemption.
22. Under no circumstances will animals be allowed to be let go out of the handler’s control.
23. The Allora Show Society recommends that all intending exhibitors of livestock are holders of Public Liability Insurance cover. This cover indemnifies the owner for their legal liability for body injury or damage to persons and/or property as a result of an occurrence caused by the negligence of their animals whilst attending or participating in Show events.
24. STRICT COVID REGULATIONS WILL APPLY THROUGHOUT OUR SHOW. PLEASE BECOME AWARE OF THESE SAFE PRACTICES.
A L L O R A S H O W S O C I E T Y 9
