DAY 3: TUE. JUN 14, 2016 - WARSAWAfter a restful night’s sleep, meet a local expert for a guided tour devoted to the former ghetto area and visit the main sites. We will see remnants of the ghetto wall and the Umschlagplatz memorial. We will also visit the new Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Included will be a visit to Treblinka in the afternoon. (BB)

DAY 4: WED. JUN 15, 2016 - KRAKOWDrive south to medieval Krakow, full of architectural wonder and legend. Visit the former Jewish Quarter of Kazimierz to ‘Old Podgórze’, to see Ghetto Square, and remains of the Ghetto Wall. Then explore Oskar Schindler’s Factory Museum to gain a fascinating insight into the Nazi occupation of Poland and the fate of Schindler’s Jewish workforce. DAY 5: THU. JUN 16, 2016 – FULL DAY AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU EXCURSION This morning we make a pilgrimage to Oswiecim, better known by its German name of ‘Auschwitz’. Our visit includes the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum and Memorial, comprising these two camps which bear witness to the terrible atrocities of the Holocaust. Return to Krakow to spend some time in Europe’s largest and most beautiful medieval town square. At its centre, stands the huge Cloth Hall, surrounded by historic townhouses, palaces and churches. Listen out for the trumpeters call from the Gothic tower of St. Mary’s! A packed Lunch will be provided today. (BB, PL)

DAY 6: FRI. JUN 17, 2016 - BUDAPESTAfter breakfast, journey into Slovakia and through the breathtaking Tatra Mountains, where villagers still live in traditional wooden houses. See the picturesque Oravsky Hrad Castle before crossing into Hungary. Tonight enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (BB,D) Hotel: Sofitel, Budapest (2 nights)

DAY 7: SAT. JUN 18, 2016 – BUDAPEST With our local expert guide, we will learn the history of the Jewish settlements in Budapest. Admire the incredible interior decoration of Matthias Church and take in the view from the Fisherman’s Bastion. We will visit the Great Synagogue and cemetery, as well as the Holocaust memorial dedicated to the man who saved thousands of Jews from the Nazis, Raoul Wallenberg. We will also have the opportunity to see the Shoes on the Danube Promenade memorial on the banks of the Danube. Later, enjoy time in the Central Market Hall, its three storeys packed with aromatic food stalls offering Hungarian salamis, spicy papriska and sweet Tokaji wines. The rest of the day is yours. (BB)

DAY 8: SUN. JUN 19, 2016 - VIENNADepart for the Austrian Capital, Vienna. With our local guide we will visit Leopoldstadt and the Judenplatz in the Jewish quarter, along with the Jewish Museum and the City Temple. We will also visit the Augarten Flakturm, a huge tower built as a platform for German anti-aircraft defences. The Austrian capital boasted a varied culinary landscape so this evening you are offered a selection of restaurants for your dining pleasure. (BB, DA) Hotel: Hilton, Vienna (2 nights)

DAY 9: MON. JUN 20, 2016 – VIENNA Join your local expert and visit the Imperial Palace and Treasuries; Schonbrunn Palace; Imperial Burial Vault; St. Stephan’s Cathedral; Kohlmarkt. The rest of the day is at leisure. (BB)

DAY 10: TUE. JUN 21, 2016 - ČESKÝ KRUMLOVDrive to Ceský Krumlov, a picturesque medieval town nestled on the banks of the Vltava. With a local expert, walk the narrow cobbled streets and arch covered footpaths, past colourful townhouses and centuries old inns. DAY 11: WED. JUN 22, 2016 - PRAGUEToday we head to the capital city of Prague. Here a local expert shows you the amazing St Vitus’ Cathedral, which is set inside the 1,000-year-old Prague Castle. DAY 12: THU. JUN 23, 2016 – PRAGUE Today, we will explore the ancient Jewish Quarter (Josefov) dating back to the 13th Century. We will visit the Maisel, Spanish, Pinkas, and Klausen synagogues, Jewish Cemetery, and Ceremonial Hall. As night falls, why not head for a local restaurant to sample tasty Czech cuisine as well as the famous local beer? (BB)

DAY 13: FRI. JUN 24, 2016 - PRAGUE - MUNICHToday we travel to Nuremberg, here with our expert guide we will explore the ruins of the Nazi Party rally grounds -- including the Zeppelin Field and Congress Hall – as well as the Palace of Justice, location of the post-war Nuremberg trials. Continue to Munich for an introductory orientation that will show you the Olympic Stadium, university, Victory Arch and end in the Marienplatz, where crowds gather at the Town Hall to watch the antics of the Glockenspiel. This evening you may wish to enjoy dinner in one of Munich’s famous “Bier Kellers”, the Hofbrauhaus. (BB) Hotel: Sheraton Arabella Park, Munich (2 nights)

DAY 14: SAT. JUN 25, 2016 – MUNICH A scenic drive into the Bavarian Alps brings us to Berchtesgaden within sight of Hitler’s former mountain hideaway. With our expert guide we will drive up to the ruins of Obersalzberg and tour the tunnels that were built into the mountain for air-raid protection. Weather permitting transfer to special motorcoaches adapted to the scenic mountain climb to Hilter’s notorious “Eagles Nest”. There are splendid views through the arches up to the ‘Hohen Goll’ and across the snowcapped peaks. This evening, enjoy a Celebration Dinner with drinks at a cosy restaurant. (BB, CD)
