Project: STEAM Clothing 2: Simply Sewing

Description: Learn how to thread and operate the newest machines at Extension Office. Participants will learn the how to use a serger to create seams, finish an edge, or create a decorative finish. Following the Clover College, youth will have access to the sergers for their own sewing projects.

Project: STEAM Clothing: Beyond the
Needle

Description: Create a one of a kind silk scarf by using the Shibori method and learn about the science of dye. Instead of traditional indigo dye, participants will get to try different colors. Requirements: Teen or adult helpers
needed, especially for those younger than
10. Bring old towels.
Other Info: Youth will also have the option
to order blank garments in advance (such
as a dress, top, or skirt for an additional
cost) Orders will need to be and paid for
two weeks in advance. Those garments
can then be used to dye at the Clover
College.
