OUR MISSION

WHO ARE WE?

The National HPV Vaccination Roundtable is

a coalition of over 70 organizations working

at the intersection of immunization and

cancer prevention.  We were founded by the

CDC and the American Cancer Society, but

our power comes from the collective body of

passionate cancer prevention and

immunization advocates who volunteer their

time and talents to advance our mission.

We are on a mission to raise HPV

vaccination rates and prevent HPV

cancers in the United States.

OUR VISION

We see a future where HPV immunization rates

are raised to 80%, and looking beyond, we will

advance towards eliminating vaccine-

preventable HPV cancers as a public health

problem.

WHAT WE DO

We have three primary areas of activity—we convene,

communicate and catalyze.

CONVENE: We convene national organizations,

experts, and key stakeholders to ideate, strategize,

and problem solve.

COMMUNICATE: We communicate and inform

providers, systems, coalitions, parents, and the public

about the importance of HPV vaccination as cancer

prevention.

CATALYZE: We catalyze our members, and by

extension the public, to take action to close the

adolescent vaccination gap.

MEMBERSHIP

Our membership consists of over 70 organizations

that prioritize HPV-associated cancer prevention

through immunization and/or cancer control.  In

addition, individual subject matter experts may be

invited to participate, and organizations may be

recruited as ad hoc members to achieve short term

priorities.

Health systems and public health organizations are

invited to support our mission through membership in

our We’re In! 2020 initiative. This is the best way for

local and state organizations to stay informed and

be activated in affiliation with our work.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERSAs we publish this, the world is facing a pandemic for which there is no vaccine. Vaccinations save

lives, and we are more committed than ever to preventing the human papilloma virus. Only 51% of

U.S. teens are fully vaccinated against HPV. The HPV vaccine is a cancer prevention vaccine which

is highly effective and proven to help protect against six cancers in men and women.
