BUSES-To the main site from 30th September-currently out to tenderOUR INTENTION IS TO SEEK COMMERCIAL OPERATORS TO RUN THE FOLLOWING ROUTES. WHEN HCC CONFIRM THAT THIS HAS BEEN POSSIBLE WE WILL UPDATE OUR WEBSITE AND EMAIL OUT A BUS GUIDE TO ROUTES AND TIMES.

180 pupils - the great majority live in 3 areas- Southdown, the village of Wheathampstead and the villages of Redbourn, Flamstead and Markyate. We then have smaller groupings from Kimpton and nearby, Luton and Hatfield.

Southdown-357 and the morning journey for the school leaves Cross Lane at 0749 and arrives at Katherine Warington School at 0811.

Wheathampstead-A new service, the 811 will serve the school from Wheathampstead. It will start in Hatfield to cater for pupils who might live in the Hatfield area and serves Hill Dyke in Wheathampstead as well as the centre of the village before arriving at the school at 0815.

Redbourn,Markyate,Flamstead-Another new service, the 807, will start at Markyate and travel through Flamstead and Redbourn (including Lybury Lane) before serving Harpenden Town Centre and will arrive at the school at 0814.

For those who live in the village of Kimpton and its surrounding villages, the 45 service, which starts in Stevenage and travels on to Luton through Harpenden will provide a link to the school.

Pupils who live other parts of Harpenden can choose to catch service 357 or service 807 as it travels through the centre of Harpenden.

Pupils who live in the Luton area can catch the very frequent Thameslink service to Harpenden then take services 357 and 807 to the school. Alternatively, there are very regular bus services in the shape of services 321, 366 and 610 although the journey times will be quite long at peak times.

In addition, for those living in Wheathampstead there are very regular service buses: 357, 366 and 610.

Indicative price with SAVERCARD-£650 for the full academic year.
