2018 Ulaanbaatar Marathon

Marathon through the steppe Are you an active runner who also strives to explore the untouched nature and

rich culture of this planet? If yes, this tour is for you! With this tour, you are able

to run through the famous steppes of Mongolia while admiring the mountains

and the nomadic families around you. You are also going to be a part of

Ulaanbaatar’s Annual marathon and it is your chance to run the streets of the

capital along with hundreds of locals and visitors – the most amazing race of

your life!

18 May / Day 1. Ulaanbaatar city

Accommodation: hotel

Meals: Welcome dinner

We will begin our journey by taking a luxury passenger plane to the land of blue

sky, Mongolia. We land at the capital city Ulaanbaatar which lies at an elevation of

1,351 meters. Ulaanbaatar is located in the Tuul river valley of the Mongolian

plateau. At the foot of Bogd Mountain, the Tuul River is flowing from east to west,

and the water is clear to the bottom. And the population is 1.25 million people.

After arriving in Ulaanbaatar, you will be greeted at the airport and escorted to

your hotel. After enjoying welcome dinner at local restaurant, we transfer back to

our hotel.

19 May / Day 2. Mongol Nomadic

Accommodation: Ger camp

Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Ulaanbaatar international marathon: 06:00 – 08:00 run a race

Route arrangement: Whole journey: 42.195km Half journey:

Quarter journey: 10.548km Mini marathon: 5km

Driving distance: 55 km

After marathon in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to Mongol Nomadic. Horse and yak riding

can be organized at request. To explore & experience nomadic family lifestyle,

custom and tradition, we will try on Mongolian dress and take a picture, try the

archery, feed the little lamb, milk a cow, learn to make wool felt, observe wrestling,

enjoy horsemanship and horse headed fiddle performance.

20 May / Day 3. Terelj National Park

Accommodation: Ger camp





Today we drive to Terelj National Park. Here we will ride a bike and visit the

beautiful national holiday resort. Terelj National park lies at an elevation of 1,600

meters and is located on the edge of Khan Khentii mountain range. Terelj is the

name of a plant which is very abundant in the area and which flowers at the end of

the spring. The alpine scenery and fantastic rock formations of Terelj National Park

were the homelands of Chinggis Khan and his hordes. Some of the rock formations

resemble prehistoric animals. Visit local nomadic family and ride a horse. Along the

way, you will see Mongolian ovoo /Pile of rocks/. It is custom to stop and circle an

ovoo three times in clockwise direction. Overnight at the ger camp

21 May / Day 4. Chinggis Khan Monument - Ulaanbaatar

Accommodation: Hotel


The monument of Chingiss Khaan marathon: 06:00—08:00

Route arrangement: The monument of Chingiss Khaan-Tuul River- The

monument of Chingis Khaan (Whole journey: 10.195 km)


Visit the Chinggis memorial. Take photos of the Biggest Mongolian traditional boot

and golden whip of Chinggis Khan. After marathon, back to ger camp. Transfer to

Ulaanbaatar. We start our tour in Ulaanbaatar by visiting Sukhbaatar Square and

The National History Museum. After that, we will enjoy traditional music and dance

performance. Overnight at hotel.
