Cookies with Cupid. This year we celebrated LOVE and invited our Wish families to join us for a morning of fun and yummy treats. The wish kids and siblings enjoyed decorating Valentines cookies and special crafts. Afterward, every child got to take home their yummy treats and sweet little surprises.

Wish Family Day at the Ballpark. Each summer, our Wish families enjoy a special, sunny outing to Globe Life Park to cheer on the Texas Rangers while enjoying a fun day at the ballpark. With tickets donated by the Texas Rangers, and a family-style picnic lunch hosted by the Pantego Lions Club, and custom t-shirts for all, our Wish families experience an exciting afternoon of baseball and fun!

Go Wild Day at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.Each Fall, a Wish with Wings partners with Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth to treat families to an outing sponsored by The Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth, at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. The theme of the day is “Go Wild” and that is exactly what the wish kids do … they go wild and have a full day of fun!

Holiday Party at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle.Our most popular event of the year is the annual Holiday Party hosted by Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in Fort Worth. Families enjoy a festive lunch, complete with gifts for all the kids. Santa arrives via Fort Worth Fire Department on board a fire engine to help welcome our Wish Families and ring in the holidays in style!

2018 was truly a MAGICAL year for a Wish with Wings! We were blessed to be the recipient of several community events, in-cluding The Greatest Gift Catalog Ever, Colonial Birdies for Charity, FWAPL Clay Shoot, Pooh deMayo, North Texas Giving Day, Chuggers Char-ity Golf Tournament, and the Fort Worth Magazine Dream Home. These events

raised vital support to benefit our mission. We love to partner with associations and organizations which help further our mission! These include the Associ-ation of Fundraising Professionals, the Association of Wish Granting Organizations, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Hispanic

Give Kids the World Village, while taking in Universal Studios and all four Disney Parks. His favorite part of the whole trip was when Blue, the Velociraptor that appears in Jurassic World movie came out to greet everyone. Dallas was the first to go up to her, take a picture with her and even told her, “sit girl”. Dallas was on cloud nine!

Lake is a precious five-year old girl who loves all things superheroes! Her one true wish was to spend a magical week in Disney, meeting all her favorite superheroes like, Spiderman and Wonder Woman. Lake also got the special honor of having her star be the very first hung by Stellar the Star Fairy in the new obser-vatory at Give Kids the World. It’s a special symbol of Lake’s courageous journey.

Thomas’ Wish has been a long time coming! He was diagnosed with Ewing Sarco-ma when he was just seven months old, and although he completed treatment, he was still not quite old enough to qualify for a wish. Fast forward six years later and Thomas has finally got-ten the wish of his dreams, a Disney Cruise! His parents say he watches YouTube videos of Disney Cruises and was so excited that he would finally get to experi-ence it himself. It was truly an unforgettable experience for the entire family to get some time away and reflect on how grateful they are for Thomas to be cancer free!

Noah’s Wish trip to Hawaii came true just in time for his eighteenth birthday. After a long two-year battle with Sarcoma, Noah was finally feeling strong enough to explore the island of Kauai. Noah and his family had a blast enjoying a luau, going on a bike ride and even celebrating Thanksgiving together. It was a trip that he will never forget!

Dorothy is a sweet little four-year-old girl whose family was invited to take part in the Something mAAgic flight in October. Her parents were thrilled and knew it was the perfect timing. When we asked Dorothy what she wanted to do on her wish, she said ... “go to the beach, ride a horse, meet all the Princesses and Minnie”! Well her wish was our command. Of course, she got to ride a horse at Give Kids the World Village. And, last but not least, she met all her favorite princesses and although she was a little star struck at first, she quickly started to warm up and talked all things princess!

Dallas, Dorothy and Lake along with 21 more of our Wish Kids, enjoyed Wish trips to Disney World, where each family enjoyed a magical week at Give Kids the World. While there, they visited all four Disney Parks, Universal Studios and SeaWorld.
