TECHNOLOGY

GO TURBO. The ECOTEC® 1.4L turbocharged engine, available on LT and standard on Premier, offers up to an EPA-estimated 37 MPG highway with the 6-speed manual transmission. It also delivers 138 horsepower and 148 lb.-ft. of torque. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

MAKE IT AN RS. The RS Package, standard on Hatchback and available on Sedan, features a sport body kit and RS-specific aluminum wheels along with Black Chevrolet bowties, custom rocker panels and foglamps. Interior highlights include a Piano Black-accented instrument panel and a flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel.

PREMIER RS. On Premier models, the RS Package includes 17-inch Black-painted aluminum wheels and a sport suspension, while the interior is upgraded with heated Jet Black leatherette front seats with RS lettering and sueded microfiber inserts.

SAFETY STARTS WITH YOU. Safety features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. SAFETY

Whether you’re on the road or in a parking lot, the available innovative active safety technologies in Sonic use strategically located cameras and sensors to help warn you of potential collisions.

FORWARD COLLISION ALERT. This available feature continually monitors how close your vehicle is to the vehicle in front of you. If the system determines that a front-end collision with a detected vehicle is imminent, it alerts the driver to a potential crash. It also warns the driver if their Sonic is following a detected vehicle much too closely.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING. If you unintentionally change lanes without a turn signal, this available camera-based system sends an alert. The camera, mounted near the inside rearview mirror, reads traffic lane markings when identifiable and provides audible and visual alerts.

REAR VISION CAMERA. When traveling in reverse at low speeds, the rear vision camera provides a real-time picture of the area immediately behind your Sonic on the 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen display.

REAR PARK ASSIST. This available feature helps you back up by sounding an audible alert and providing visual indication on the rear vision camera display when it detects certain stationary objects in close proximity behind the vehicle.

STABILITRAK® ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. In challenging weather and road conditions, this standard system helps you stay the course by detecting the difference between the path being steered and the direction the vehicle is actually going. It then uses the brakes and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to help you keep your Sonic on track. This innovative safety technology is especially helpful during emergency maneuvers and difficult driving conditions.

ONSTAR AUTOMATIC CRASH RESPONSE.1 In a crash, built-in sensors can automatically connect you to a specially trained, Emergency Medical Dispatch-certified Advisor2 who can help you get the assistance you need — even if you can’t ask for it. Advisors can use GPS technology to pinpoint your location and request emergency help. OnStar Automatic Crash Response is included in the OnStar Safety & Security Plan.1
