2018 AJAS Annual Conference | 5
Golf Tournament sponsored by
The 2018 AJAS Annual Golf Tournament will be taking place at the Fazio Golf Course located at the PGA Resort. The Fazio is a reinvention of The Haig, PGA National Resort & Spa’s original 18-hole course that opened in 1980. The Haig was designed by George and Tom Fazio in tribute to five-time PGA champion Walter Hagen, and its renovation is being led by third-generation designer Tom Fazio II, who emphasized modernizing the course layout. While the original par-72 routing remains intact, the renovation improves the classic golf architecture with modern advances. There is an additional fee for the tournament, which you will see when registering for the conference. Fee includes green fees, cart fees, range balls, golf service fees, Titleist golf balls, and brunch following the tournament. Club rentals are separate. More information about club rentals will be sent closer to the conference. The Fazio Golf Course is located on the PGA National Resort and within walking distance; singles are welcome.
Buses to Worth AvenueWorth Avenue is an upscale shopping and dining district in Palm Beach, Florida. The avenue stretches four blocks from Lake Worth to the Atlantic Ocean. Worth Avenue also includes smaller, architecturally significant “vias” off the main avenue. On Sunday, February 11 there will be transportation provided to and from the PGA National Resort & Spa. There is an additional fee for this activity, which you will see when registering for the conference.
Innovation Roundtables sponsored by
Come listen to award winners present their innovative programs and ideas in addition to hot topics from AJAS members on what they are working on in their individual communities.
Development & Philanthropy Caucus On Sunday, February 11, join Karen Flam, Foundation Director of Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre/Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare, for discussions on relevant issues relating to development and philanthropy.
Follow the Money: War Room sponsored by ***NEW
On the first day of the conference (Monday, February 12), the morning and afternoon meetings will include breakout sessions for the Development/Philanthropy teams and the Housing communities. The majority of members will remain together to learn and caucus on topics consuming our everyday energies and creativity. This session will include conversation on SNF Medicare Impending Changes (RCS) and how to retool your community; the Shifting Post-Acute Landscape; and Managed care initiatives focused on improving care for populations with chronic and complex conditions. The morning session will be educational in design and composed of a presentation by Marc Zimmet of Zimmet Healthcare. The afternoon session will feature Gene Huang from Remedy Partners who will review where the market is heading as well as the future of bundled payments.. The objective of this concept is to allow members to walk away with ideas and strategies that can be replicated within their communities.
Exhibitors’ ShowcaseThe showcase will take place 2:45 pm - 5:45 pm on Monday and is a ‘can’t miss’ part of the conference. The event is a great opportunity to meet with our exhibitors and business partners who work hard to support your communities and elders every day. New this year, cocktails and snacks will be available in the exhibit hall!
