Our School today○ Weber School is a decile 8 full primary state school delivering education to Year 1 – 8 students. ○ Weber is a rural community situated 38 kilometres east of Dannevirke.
○ The catchment of Weber School includes the areas of Weber, Herbertville, Wimbledon, Ti Tree Point, Waione, Horoeka, Motea Akitio and Waitahora.
○ Three bus routes serve Weber School by Ministry funded buses.
○ Weber and surrounding districts are part of a close knit community with a strong tradition of support for the school which shows in the facilities available.
○ The roll is currently 66 and is expected to be stable for the next few years. ○ Currently the school has 3 full time teachers, a part time teacher for Principal release time and one part time
teacher's aide. ○ Parent’s, Staff, and Trustees have a positive working relationship at Weber School.
○ As the Maori are the Tangata Whanau of Aotearoa and their language and culture are a living part of New Zealand society, the Board of Trustees recognises its obligation to the Treaty of Waitangi. It will undertake to provide opportunities where the students can experience Tikanga Maori.
○ The Board of Trustees will ensure steps are taken to achieve the goals of this charter.
○ Annual Cycle:○ Weber School’s planning year is from 1 January to 31 December each year. ○ A copy of our updated Charter and Annual Plan will be lodged with the Ministry of Education by 1 March each year.

(e.g. Science Centre, Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre).○ Include discussions about learning○ Incorporate a careers programme integrated into the curriculum – opportunity to see various careers.○ Students take responsibility for their own learning (e.g. use self and peer assessment) and focus on the PROGRESS they have made.○ A fully functional learning community in which all are learners and potential teachers; includes peers as tutors (e.g. ballet after school
programme)
