Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has announced the year 2016 as the 'Year of Pulses.' This theme has been chosen to promote awareness among the people about importance of pulses in terms of food security, nutrition, prevention of life style related diseases and environmental sustainability. Pulses are the dry, edible seeds from bean family. They form an important portion of our diet and provide proteins, complex carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Each 100 grams contain about 32 grams of proteins and several amino acids not made by the body. Pulses are popularly known as the 'poor people's meat'. The rural households in particular depend on dals for their protein daily requirement. Therefore greater awareness among people about the usefulness of pulses from nutritional and health point of view has to be promoted.

For the last two years RAHA has been focusing on 'Lifestyle Diseases/Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs)'. Health and well-being are made possible through combination of various factors. Preventing disease is always wiser than curing them. Ensure health by safe drinking water, hygiene, right food, exercising daily, sleeping enough, not consuming tobacco and alcohol as well as staying stress free can keep most of the diseases at bay.

Today, instead of infectious disease, more people die of NCDs such as Hypertension, Heart disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Obesity, Bone ailments – joint pain, Backache, Digestive disorders, Liver trouble, Kidney problems and Depression. Most of these are silent killers and they are a creeping catastrophe.

Hypertension exerts a substantial public health burden on Cardio Vascular health status and health care system in India. About 33% urban and 25% rural Indians are hypertensive. Indians have high rates of cardio vascular disease and according to world health record 2002, cardio vascular diseases will be the largest cause of death and disability and 2.6 million Indians are predicted to die by 2020 in India from cardio vascular disease.

Cancer is one of the most common diseases in India responsible for maximum mortality. 1300 die of cancer every day in India. Since the turn of the century Cancer has overtaken diarrheal diseases and respiratory infections to become the fourth major killer disease in India.

There is an estimated 70 million diabetes cases in India and the prevalence is growing. 60% of the deaths in the contrary already are due to non-communicable disease, particularly the four biggest killers, namely Cardio Vascular disease, Diabetes, Cancer and Chronic Obstructive Lung disease.

In response to these problems RAHA involve itself by imparting health education to bring awareness to people on healthy lifestyles consisting of healthy and balanced diet with locally produced organic food and abstaining from use of alcohol and tobacco. RAHA is also actively involved in educating school children and adolescents on healthy lifestyles, screening children for disease and eye problems and also de-worming.

This annual report gives information on all our activities during this year.

RAHA : A Report for The Year 2015-16

RAHA is working for 47 years, (since 1969) for health promotion, prevention of illness and early treatment of mild to moderate cases of sicknesses through its network of Rural Health Centers (RHCs). There are now 95 established RHCs, Staffed each one with a trained Staff nurse and an ANM or a Helper. The Clinical Establishment Act (CEA) which was implemented in Chhattisgarh in 2013 restricted the functioning of these RHCs. Many RHCs declined from its services. Now 60 RHCs are functioning

as extended service points of referral hospital: the hub and spoke model. The Christian Coalition for health in Chhattisgarh (CCHCG) formed on December 13, 2013 continues to support RHCs and conducts regular meeting and updates the functioning. On March 30-31, 2016 there was a work shop on “Grievance Redressal Mechanisms in the Health Sector in Chhattisgarh : Opportunities, Experiences and Challenges" organized by Public Health Resource Network (PHRN) and Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (JSA) in Raipur at Hotel Simran Pride. The CCHI Director Ms. Anuvinda Varkey and the CCH CG members attended the above workshop. During this workshop CCHI Director and the members of CCH CG met together to identify issues that our institutions are facing in the delivery of health care in the state and presented them to DHS. He gave the representatives of CCH CG a patient listening and was proactive and positive with the request made.

Rural Health Centre (RHC) Sister Nurses Meeting and Training :

Sister nurses of RHCs have regular quarterly meeting and training. Sister Doctors in Ambikapur and Kunkuri take classes as per need expressed by sister nurses.

Sr. Linda CHF from Karangabahla and Sr. Ancillin CHF from Beltoli health center attended a 3 month community Heath Enablers course with CHAI. The course prepared them to gain skills in Counselling, Substance abuse and De-addiction, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Sujoke, Naturopathy, Reiki etc .The sisters appreciated and said that this course equipped them with many new skills. The course was free for members of CHAI .

School Health Programme :

School Health is a regular programme of RAHA since 1980. The programme includes health check up, eye screening, deworming and health education. The ultimate aim of school health is to provide well planned and organized comprehensive health care services to school going children through school system to help in attaining their optimum health and develop wholesome behavior.

Attack by Wild Elephants :

August 2015 and the following months were frightening days and months for villagers in the districts of Jashpur, Raigarh and Surguja. In district Jashpur alone 258 villages were affected by wild elephants. They moved in group of 30-40 and in the evening entered villages and pulled down houses, ate stored grains and pulses, also ate ready crops in the field and crushed and destroyed standing crops and killed livestock. Few persons also were succumbed in these encounters.

People were in great fear and distress and left their houses and belongings to live together in safer public places for several months. RAHA team along with people of good will visited the area, assessed their needs and helped them with food materials, cloth, searchlight and financial support to repair three houses. RAHA team visited Patuakona, Tilinga, Bardand, Gohshila, Pandopara, Kohpani etc. We are thankful to all who generously responded to our request in this emergency.

Liliane Foundation (LF) of Holland :

RAHA gets help from LF through Jan Vikas Samiti in Varanasi to rehabilitate disabled persons below the age of 25 years. RAHA is also engaged in home based rehabilitation for 17 Cerebral Palsy (C.P.) children.This year RAHA has distributed 8 walkers, one wheel chair and one Tricycle. Two children with club foot underwent corrective surgery in RJSIOR Hospital, Ranchi.

Trainings and workshop during the year 2015-2016 :

There were 2 skill training camp for blind children. Classes were taken in two groups. Primary children, classes in one group and middle high school students in another group. In all 21 blind children attended the camp. Totally blind children's parents meeting/training/in six places in small groups so that the parents could join the meeting when it is conducted near to their homes.

Mr. Ramanand attended several meetings/trainings with Micronutrient Initiative India (MII) for support to use on Zinc & ORS for Childhood Diarrheal Management and with UNICEF for planning Sabla Programme in Lakhanpur Block of Surguja.

The Village Health Supervisors (VHS) who are selected to assist the field supervisor in the field were called twice for training, one in October 2015 and the other in March 2016. Both the trainings were of two days each.

In 2008 RAHA had supported 20 villages for a Community Lead Planning and Action. It was a process of Participatory Learning, Institutional Design and Collective Action. Where there was a complete handing over of responsibilities to the people of the villages. The leaders of these 20 villages came for a sharing and input session for two days 29-30 September 2015 in RAHA Gramin Sansadan Vikas Kendra (GSVK), Kakna. The coming together was an enriching experience for all. RAHA has requested these leaders to motivate other villages to adopt this Svavlamban process for over all development of the villages. RAHA would join to facilitate the process.

Sr. Elizabeth participated for a day long consultation on Child Right Advocacy on 12, December 2015. The objective of this consultation was to discuss on possible advocacy agenda for child right issues in the state.

ICDS, Lundra :

Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Project, Lundra, District Surguja, the management of which was handed over to RAHA on 09-05-1995. In August 1994 it was decided that the Central Government shall grant financial assistance to the NGOs who are interested with the task of implementing the ICDS project and the State Government will also be responsible for supporting the NGO. Primarily it is the States duty to implement the ICDS scheme and handing over of the project to a NGO has been on experimental basis.

The agreement was signed between RAHA and the Collector of Surguja and it was on a year to year basis. Since then, the ICDS run by RAHA has been ideal for the rest of the ICDS project Blocks in the district of Surguja and has been given the award of Birsa Munda for the best performance in 1999-2000. On 10/10/2006 an order was given to RAHA to hand over ICDS, Lundra, to the District Collector. At that time RAHA was concerned about the staff employed in Lundra and gave a petition, to be allowed to continue service. However after 9 years of further service the court dismissed the petition and asked ICDS, Lundra, to be handed over to the District “Women and Child Development Department".

RAHA finally handed over this project to the District ICDS officer on 03/10/2015- the whole office with all the documents and the related papers.

Axshaya India Project :

RAHA collaborated with CARE India, Raipur in running Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) in Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) in Jashpur, Surguja and Korea Districts from 2010. This programme concluded on September 30, 2015.

Special Events During the Year :

World Health Day, April 7, 2015 :

Every year, the World Health Organization (WHO) selects a priority area of global public health concern and selects a theme for World Health Day, which falls on 7 April, the birthday of the organization. The theme for World Health Day 2015 was “Food Safety – From Farm to Plate, Make food safe". This was an opportunity to alert Governments, manufacturers, retailers and the public to

the importance of food safety and to ensure that the food on peoples' plates is safe to eat. This year RAHA addressed nursing students of Holy Cross Hospital, Kunkuri, on food safety so that the theme 'Food Safety' could be an area of public health action to protect people from the risks of food poisoning and food borne diseases like diarrheal disease, viral disease, cancers etc. We also conducted a session with B.T.I. students at Pathalgaon and villagers around RAHA Health Centre. Total number of persons contacted 1243.

World Environment Day, June 5, 2015 :

Every year, the United Nations Environment Programme honors World Environment Day on June 5 to raise global awareness about environmental issues and call for action. This years' theme 'Sustainable lifestyle' is a very crucial topic and asks everyone to evaluate our consumer habits: how we shop, eat and travel. Expanding the theme it said “Seven billion dreams, one planet, consume with care". Sr. Elizabeth Director, RAHA addressed on this topic and raised several questions and how to protect environment. Sr. Elizabeth further explained how common people disrupt natural environment because of indiscriminate exploitation of ground water, unplanned cutting of forest and air pollutions.

This year World Environment Day was observed in village Rede of health centre Beoradand, Block Pathalgaon, Dist. Jashpur, Block Pathalgaon.

International Tribal Day :

RAHA core team staff contributed to International Tribal Day on 9th August by discussing health issues of tribal in this area. Mr. Abraham Lakra and Mr. Linus Kujur shared health information in Jashpur district and Mr. Joseph in Surguja District. This was an opportunity to talk to over 3200 people on health and lifestyle diseases.

World Sight Day :

The annual World Sight Day (WSD) provides an opportunity to become more aware and more committed to ensuring the right to sight for all. 2015 WSD theme 'Eye Care for All" was organized for, Janta Primary and Middle School at Basen, District Jashpur. A health camp was organized on October 8, 2015 with eye screening and health education on eye care. 442 School children benefitted from this programme. RAHA supports “Vision 2020: The Right to Sight" The global initiative, launched in 1999, which aims to eliminate avoidable blindness by the year 2020. There is an estimated 9 million blind people in India.

World AIDS Day, December 1 :

The theme for World Aids Day an ongoing theme from 2011 to 2015 is “Getting to Zero", The theme was set by the World AIDS Campaign and International Coalition of HIV AIDS groups and networks. Getting to Zero refers to “Zero AIDS related deaths, Zero New HIV Infections, Zero discrimination". This year the AIDS day programme in Surguja district was by the combined effort of RAHA and Holy Cross Social Service Centre. Sr. Christy, Coordinator of Holy Cross Social work, Sr. Agatha Minj OSU, Coordinator, RAHA, Ambikapur and Mr. Vishwanath, Field Supervisor (F.S), coordinated the

event there. The F.Ss of RAHA Ambikapur staged a 'Nukkad' to raise awareness on AIDS among school students. There was good support from school authority. The programme was organized in Government Higher Secondary School, Narmadapur and Model School, Kamleswerpur, Mainpath. Mr. Jaiarathi Kispotta, Principal Govt. H. S. School, Narmadapur and Sr. Elizabeth spoke on the theme and addressed the students.On 2nd December AIDS progarmme was conducted in coumpter school. In Surajpur Mr. Rajendra Kumar, F.S. RAHA organized a huge gathering and rally where civil society and school students participated and gave their views. Sr. Agatha Minj, OSU, Coordinator and RAHA F.S. also joined to encourage the gathering and staged a Nukkad on AIDS. At Kunkuri, Sr. Flory CHF, Coordinator, RAHA, Jashpur; F.S. Mr. Abraham and other F.Ss of RAHA conducted AIDS Day. A total of 2962 students took part in the event and benefitted from the programme.

International Women's Day (IWD), March 8 :

International Women's Day (IWD), is celebrated globally on 8 March. The campaign theme was - “Pledge for Parity". This is the theme to uphold women's achievements, recognize challenges and focus greater attention on Women's rights and gender equality to mobilize all people especially women to do their part. Several gatherings of women were organized in the villages, emphasizing the theme – Gender Parity. Every woman has a role to accelerate the speed in getting their equality in the society. Equality for women is progress for all, emphasizes how gender equality, empowerment of women, women's full enjoyment of human rights and the eradication of poverty are essential to economic and social development. The women at the end of the gathering pledged to work for parity in their own locality. RAHA team in different groups addressed about 4760 women and conveyed the message of IWD.

World Disability Day, December 3 :

RAHA observed World Disability Day on 3 December. The theme this year was “Inclusion Matters: Access and Empowerment for People of all Abilities." On this occasion we organized a rally of persons with disability from RAHA office, Pathalgaon to Indira Chowk, Bus stand, Pathalgaon. They came from different directions and gathered in RAHA and then we all marched together to Pathalgaon to raise their voice for their immediate needs like Bus Pass, Rail Pass, Disabled friendly environment in Government and public places. Staff of Block Resource Centre and other people from Civil Society attended the gathering. A young blind boy of class-9 Narendra Nagdev addressed the group and spoke about social inclusion and equality in the society and spread awareness in the society.

Republic Day Celebration January 26, 2016 :

Support and help to the young disabled persons to make their life a little easier and comfortable is an important activity of RAHA. This year during republic day celebration the visually and the orthopedically impaired children together performed a very rhythmic dance with a 'Desh Bhakti Gaan' (Patriotism song). During their performance the whole gathering greeted them with a standing ovation.

A universal health protection scheme for acute hospitalization care will succeed only if it is part of an integrated system that seamlessly connects essential basic services for disease prevention and early clinical care with referred advanced care when needed and ensures efficient follow up on return to primary care.

The claim that the health protection scheme will reduce catastrophic financial shocks due to hospitalization is only partly true, since the over limit in hospital costs and post hospitalization expenses will be out of pocket. More important, is the cumulative burden of recurrent expenses on common ailments and continuous

spending on chronic conditions that drain the health and saving of many Indians.

RAHA has managed to protect many families from catastrophic health expenditure. The CHPS has helped in reducing the out-of-pocket payments by the patients by about 45%. There are still a certain number of referral admissions that can be handled at the Rural Health Centre (RHC) level. Some of the patients prefer to see a doctor rather than a nurse even for minor problems. They insist that the nurse should give them referral forms so that they can visit the hospital and see a doctor. This problem specifically exists in the RHCs that are near the referral hospitals

Weak primary care services will land more people in hospitals and health care costs will escalate beyond the reach of RAHA's budgets.

RAHA CHPS from its inception was launched for the poor tribals and other poor people living in remote areas and thus most of the beneficiaries are from tribal communities and other poor people. The CHPS is an effective programme that meets the needs of the poor communities.

Membership in RAHA CHPS has risen since its inception. Membership in 2015-16 was 90,214. Rates of utilization of the Community Health Protection Scheme have been low. The reason for this low rate may be for the more Preventive care and more health camps in villages as well as in schools. Out of the 90,214 enrolled members in 2015-16, the total number of patients referred to referral hospitals during April 2015 to March 2016 was 408. Out of the 408 patients, 76 patients went to a referral hospital more than once.

Rs. 5, 44,273.00 was paid by RAHA to referral hospitals for providing further health services to the referred patients. On an average every patient who was referred to a referral hospital got a benefit of Rs 1,237.00. There is a very high proportion of age groups 19 to 40 (144 members) and 41 to 60 (83 members) among the insured who were referred to referral hospitals.

At the referral hospital level the ratio of women hospitalization was higher than that of men, the percentage of the total women referred being 63 % .Out of 408 patients 257 were women and 151 men who visited referral hospitals. It also shows that the Community health protection scheme is being utilized for reproductive as well as other health needs of women. RAHA values women and it is hoped that women would continue to have better access to reproductive health care through CHPS and eventually have better reproductive health.

Lowering financial barriers to accessing health services and providing financial protection against health care-related impoverishment are the objectives of the community health protection scheme, to which RAHA is committed.

Report on Support to use of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) & Zinc for Childhood Diarrhoea

Management (CDM) Progarm

Diarrhoea is the passage of 3 or more loose or liquid stools per day, or more frequently than is normal for the individual. It is usually a symptom of gastrointestinal infection, which can be caused by a variety of bacterial, viral and parasitic organisms. Infection is spread through contaminated food or drinking-water, or from person to person as a result of poor hygiene.

Severe diarrhoea leads to fluid loss, and may be life-threatening, particularly in young children and people who are malnourished or have impaired immunity.

RAHA was selected by “Micronutrient Initiative"(MI) a corporation under the laws of Canada to support the logistics of training in 12 districts namely Raigarh, Jashpur, Surguja, Balrampur, Surajpur, Koriya, Korba, Janjgir-Campa, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Bemetra & Kawardha. The selected monitors and District level volunteers of RAHA attended a one day training on 4th august 2015 in Korba. The training was given by State Program Officer (MI) Dr. Bhagyashree Trivedi.

MI was the first to implement a demonstration project to promote the use of zinc and ORS for the management of childhood diarrhoea in Chhattisgarh and Bihar in 2009. This project provided several lessons for scale-up initiatives in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, all of which led to increase in zinc and ORS usage.

Consequently, MI plans to support the government of Chhattisgarh in implementation of their diarrhoea management program and conducted capacity building of healthcare service providers in public sector which was a key component of the program. Training was imparted to healthcare service providers at state, district and block levels.

The Manual/ Module for training and other IEC Materials are very informative and down to earth so that the information would be understood and assimilated easily. It was with great enthusiasm that RAHA supported this program on the management of childhood diarrhea.

We were also in touch with State Program Officer of MII. Training materials for each block was prepared and packed such as pre-post test papers, reporting and feedback form, attendance sheet, monitoring format, resource person honorarium sheet, TA format, banner, chart papers and marker, etc.

The training began on 17th of August 2015. Total 3450 participant were planned in 131 batch out of which 3152 had their training.

The District coordinators and monitors have tried to ensure overall quality of training, use of standard training module and training materials to the participants. At the end of every training summary of training was done to make sure that the trainees have understood their roles and responsibilities. The medical officers and the BPMs did the major part of the training, supported by other master Trainer. RAHA District coordinators / facilitator & Monitors helped out in managing the training and other logistics support.

RAHA faced problem in getting the training modules, due to this one training in Pharshabahar Block of Jashpur district was done without the modules. Later the modules were distributed. Incessant rain and local festival also disturbed smooth running of the programme and needed re-schedule. Though time was fixed from 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM the training began in most of the places by 11:00 AM The participants were also eager to leave early due to transportation problem. The training was supposed to start from

13th August 2015 but started only from 17th of August and ended on 16th of September 2015. Most of the trainings completed in 5 hours.

Overall it was a good experience, for RAHA team especially the monitors and District Coordinators / facilitators. Through this program the team developed better relationship with block / district level medical staff.

A Brief Report on Strengthening SABLA program

Adolescent programmes in India have become broad based and aim to address adolescent issues in its totality such that adolescents are empowered. Some of the notable schemes and programmes that are presently envisaged under the Health and Women and Child development Departments include the following:

� Rashtriya Kishori Swastha Karyakram : It incorporates:- Weekly Iron folic acid supplementation programme, Adolescent friendly health clinics, Menstrual hygiene Management, Approach of peer educators

� SABLA Programme : It incorporates :- Supplementary nutrition, Life-skills and Home management, Vocation Skills

There are certain gaps within these two programmes under two different departments which lead to certain constraints towards seamless integration of these two programmes. Currently programmes are on ground although not in their entirety and poorly implemented.

UNICEF Chhattisgarh has committed to implement a demonstration model for an adolescent program that is scalable. The model is structured around SABLA platform and aims to incorporate elements of Child Protection within its structure. The elements of Child Protection (CP) that would be incorporated into the adolescent programming are as follows:

� Needs assessment of children / adolescents in need of care and protection

� Capacity building of adolescent girls and concerned stakeholders on CP issues like child labor, trafficking, children out of school, child abuse

� Working in coordination with and strengthening the ICPS system at block/village level

� Community mobilisation on various convergent issues through the SABLA group

� Communication campaigns on child marriage and trafficking

� Collect and collate evidences on specific CP issues at block/village level

� Empower adolescent groups to act as watch dogs in the community

� Facilitate livelihood options for girls

Linkages with other adolescent focused programmes would also be established under the model.

The interventions would be anchored by the system under the platform of SABLA programme while RAHA led arm would be developed to support front line workers deliver the key interventions under the SABLA programme, with field delivery of interventions led and delivered through the Government Functionaries.

� Establishing baseline and End-line assessment design with comparison and also to plan gap filling interventions.

� Designing up-scalable capacity enhancement plan

� Intervention components would include supervisory staff time linked to administrative units of the Anganwadi sectors.

The study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of a Epsom salt sponge bath in the reduction of blood pressure among hypertensive clients in rural areas of Pathalagoan, Chattisgargh. It was conducted by Sruthy Joseph at Holy Cross College of Nursing in fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of M.Sc. Nursing from the CG Ayush and Health Sciences University, Raipur, CG.

The objectives of study was to assess the pre and post interventional blood pressure among the hypertensive clients, to administer the Epsom salt bath to hypertensive patients, to assess the effectiveness of Epsom salt bath among hypertensive clients and to determine the association with the pre interventional score among hypertensive clients with selected socio demographic variables.

The conceptual frame work of this study was based on “General system theory" developed by Ludwig Von Bertanlanffy. The research design was pre experimental one group pre test post test design. The pilot study was conducted in Parsa village, Ambikapur CG.

The research approach used in this study was evaluative approach. Purposive non probability sampling was used to select the sample. The sample size comprised of 50 clients with hypertension in selected villages of Pathalgoan. Data was collected using semi-structured questionnaire for the demographic variables and sphygmomanometer to assess the blood pressure of the clients'. Analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential analysis.

A total of 55 clients were selected from the villages namely Badapara, Shantinagar and Behanatanger of Pathalgaon. Badapara 12, Shantinagar 20 and Behnatanger 23 samples- study done from 7- 18-March 2016. In order to evaluate the effect of Epsom salt bath in the reduction of hypertension were assessed using the sphygmomanometer.

The result of the study was as follows: The mean pre interventional and post interventional systolic blood pressure score are 154.36 mm of Hg and 132.08 mm of Hg respectively and mean difference is -22.28. The mean pre interventional and post interventional diastolic blood pressure score are 100.72 mm of Hg and 88.72 mm of Hg respectively and mean difference is -22.28. The Z test computed between the scores of pre interventional and post interventional blood pressure scores was statistically significant at 0.05 level of significance. The calculated Z value of pre and post interventional systolic blood pressure is 8.80 is greater than the table value (t55) = 2.00 and the calculated Z value of pre and post interventional diastolic blood pressure 8.63 is greater than the table value (t55) = 2.00 and was statistically significant .

The study also shows that there was significant association with the pre interventional blood pressure and selected demographic variables like age in years and history of other illness. The calculated values of socio-demographic variables were greater than tabulated value of chi square p< 0.05 level of significance.

The finding of the study has several implications for general education, nursing education, nursing practice, administration and research. Based on the findings of the present study following conclusions were made.

The same study can be replicated on a large number of samples. Effectiveness of Epsom salt bath can be assessed by conducting the study with control and experimental groups. Epsom salt bath can be advocated as simple as safer means for reducing hypertension in home setup as well as hospital. Further study can be conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of nursing personnel in Epsom salt sponge bath to reduce hypertension among clients with high blood pressure. On the whole the study supports the effectiveness of Epsom salt sponge bath therapy in reducing the blood pressure of clients with hypertension.

Tribute

Rev. Fr. Van Besouw SJ came to MP in 1974 as Director of Social Service in Raigarh Ambikapur Diocese. He was also asked to take the responsibility of RAHA. From 1974-1995 he directed RAHA through many innovative paths. In 1995 he returned to Belgium and was resting in Jesuit house at Waversebaan. He died on 16-09-2015.

RAHA team along with Jesuit community and all the people of this area salute him for his loving, far sighted and pioneering services. May he enjoy eternal Peace and Joy.

Shri R. D. Pandey, retired professor of Ranchi University supported RAHA since 2002. His wide and in depth knowledge and experience on various subjects and his interest in RAHA’s mission drew him to join our activities. He edited all RAHA’s books and annual reports since 2002. His extensive knowledge in English and Hindi taught us to think concretely and critically on a topic and he corrected our language and shaped the pages of our annual report.

RAHA team has many happy and rich memories of working with him. Shri R. D. Pandey breathed his last on 5 April 2016 after a brief illness. May his soul enjoy eternal peace is our prayer for him.
