2016 will be the year that employers and providers embrace that employees want a personalized wellbeing experience. We will see a move from "one size fits most" to offering a variety of programs that are tailored to the unique needs, wants and dreams of individual employees.
PREDICTION #1
ALLISON SWELINGarmin2
We expect to see employers offer a variety of choice in products. One size does not fit all when it comes to selecting a device for a corporate wellness program.
PREDICTION #2
ROBIN BOUVIERAon Hewitt3
Organizations will continue to think more broadly about the value of a healthy and high-performing workforce, moving from “wellness 101” to a focus on total wellbeing. Their approach will extend beyond physical health, with particular emphasis on financial wellbeing: the ability to confidently manage one’s financial life today, while preparing for the future and anything unexpected along the way.
PREDICTION #3
KEMBRE ROBERTSSouthwest4
Employers will spend more time understanding how to connect their Employee Assistance and Work/Life balance programs to enhance an Employee’s overall wellness experience. As an Employer, we’ve got to recognize that those “outside” work things do affect productivity everyday!

This will be the year when a global consensus about the fundamentals of healthy living, including healthy eating, becomes discernible above the din and discord of competing theories. This is the year the signal starts to rise above the noise.
PREDICTION #5
JASON LANGHEIER, MDZipongo6
Employers and health plans will begin leveraging digital solutions to make healthy food selection and buying easier as first line care to fulfill nutrition counseling requirements of the Affordable Care Act that went into effect 1/1/2016.
PREDICTION #6
TOM PARRYIntegrated Benefits Institute7
Employers in 2016 will use new and broader data sets to connect workforce health to a broader range of business-relevant outcomes so that they can respond to the fundamental CFO question, “What value is our business deriving from our investments in the health of our people?”
PREDICTION #7
WOLF KIRSTENInternational Health Consulting
8
We will experience a broadening of the value proposition for health promotion and wellness as the limitations of a purely cost-driven approach become more visible. This will include increasing employee engagement and morale, productivity, and overall wellbeing.
PREDICTION #8
GEN BARRONMedtronic9
As more and more companies expand their wellness strategies globally, there will be increased pressure and demand from multi-national corporations requesting wellness vendors support and provide resources that can reach a global audience through culturally appropriate content.
