may 29, June 26, July 10 & august 28Come join The Ashland Salvation Army for a once a month pre-teen/middle school hangout and devotional time! Altared Student Ministries is structured to enrich the minds of our pre-teens as we explore topics of interest.

GET TO KNOW YOUR TEENS What do you like about Crew?

Crew has become a place where I feel completely comfortable, and it is a place where I have not felt any judgment from my peers or leaders.

Which is your favorite Crew event? Each month our Youth Leader has a gaming tournament called the Gamer Gauntlet. We have played different styles of video games such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, and Star Wars Battlefront. Students can participate in this tournament and it is fun to play with fellow gamers.

What is your favorite Bible Verse? When his time of service was completed, he returned home. - Luke 1:23

Fridays, 6-7:30pm | Ends JunE 3 | GradEs 7-12We at The Ashland Salvation Army believe the youth are not only the hope for today, but also for tomorrow. We have chosen to invest our lives and attention in the youth of our church and community to help them journey through their faith and build a strong foundation for their future. In the process, our youth are encouraged to come to grips with who they are in relationship to God and who God wants them to be, as well as living through The Salvation Army mission. Throughout the year we will offer opportunities for involvement including service projects, fund-raisers, youth group trips, youth councils, concerts, movie nights, and numerous other ministry events.

The Salvation Army RJKCCC is a community center where youth and adults can utilize the facility as they choose and can leave the facility when they are finished. Children need to moderate their own behavior and activity when in the center; those who cannot do so must have parental supervision for continued participation. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult (parent or guardian) when in the facility unless registered for a specific class or program that accepts young children. If participating in an age-appropriate activity, they are to be taken to the program area and picked up from the program area by an adult.

Children seven (7) and older may be in the facility without supervision during age appropriate events. However, Monday-Thursday after 7pm, all children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult, not a sibling. Friday nights 7-10pm, only students 9th-12th grade are permitted in Teen Night. Saturday nights, 6-9pm only families and tweens (up to 8th grade) are permitted in Family Night at the Kroc. Students 9th grade and above must attend with parents.

If children are not picked up by closing time, the parent/guardian will be called. If no one can be reached, or if the children are not picked up within a 10-minute period, the Ashland Police Department will be called.

Attire: Shoes and shirts are required to be worn in the facility at all times.

Drug and alcohol usage is prohibited on Salvation Army property.

Grievance Policy: The supervisor on duty will work out any grievances that arise with guests. If they cannot be resolved in this manner, guests should put their concerns in writing and give them to the Welcome Center staff. A member of the administrative staff will contact the guest within 48 hours and will work to find an acceptable resolution to the situation.

Internet Usage: The Salvation Army reserves the right to monitor the Internet activity of our guests and staff including the websites they visit. The Salvation Army also reserves the right to restrict computer usage by our guests when their Internet usage is inappropriate.

Profanity: Language used in the facility is to be respectful of others. Profanity or other hurtful language will not be accepted. Guests that choose to use profanity will be asked to leave the property.

Personal items: The Salvation Army is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items that are brought into the center. For Lost & Found items, please see a Welcome Center Associate.

Provision of Service: RJKCCC personnel have the right to refuse service to anyone deemed disruptive or abusive.

THE SALVATION ARMY KROC CENTER’S PURPOSEIn keeping with the mission and holistic approach of the Salvation Army, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides opportunities that facilitate positive, life-changing experiences through: arts, athletics, personal development, spiritual discovery and community service.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center’s facilities, programs and services bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for children and adults, strengthen individuals and families, and enrich the lives of seniors.

JOAN KROC’S VISIONJoan Kroc said that she took a tour of San Diego and it was then that she recognized a community that was in desperate need of a safe gathering place, a place with facilities and trained professionals to nurture children’s social skills, arts appreciation and athletic potential. She described the Kroc Center as being a beacon of light and hope in the community.

DID YOU KNOW?Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc, entrusted The Salvation Army with $87 million to build the first Kroc Center in the Rolando neighborhood of San Diego. Sadly, she passed away a little more than a year after it opened.

She was so pleased with what was accomplished there that she left $1.5 billion to The Salvation Army to build centers like that across the country. Today, there are 26 Kroc Centers open and operational.

Mrs. Kroc’s gift was by far the largest charitable gift ever given to the Army, and the largest single gift given to any single charity at one time.

Our Kroc Center here in Ashland, which opened in April of 2009, was the forth Kroc Center to open.Ray & Joan Kroc
