      Over the past 11 years, the ACC has enjoyed anunprecedented run in the National Football League’sdraf.   Te ACC tied the Pac-12 or the most rst-

    round draf picks in 2015 with nine.

       In the 2015 draf, a total o 47 ACC players wereselected, the second-highest in ACC history, betteredonly by the total o 51 in 2006, when the Conerenceset a record or a 12-team league.   Te 47 players were also the second-highest totalo any conerence in this year’s NFL Draf, betteredonly by the SEC’s 54. Te Pac 12 was third with 39ollowed by the Big 10 (35) and the Big 12 (25).  Florida State set a seven-round NFL Draf record(since 1994) or a three-year period when it led allschools with 11 2015 selections, giving the Seminoles29 drafed players in the 2013 (11), 2014 (7) and 2015Drafs.  Louisville was second among all schoolsnationally with 10 players selected.

     

      A total o 30 players were drafed rom theACC’s Atlantic Division alone, more than only ourtotal conerences and more than any other Division incollege ootball.  Since the 2005 season the ACC has now had 401

    players chosen in the NFL Draf, including 65 rst-round picks.   O the 186 ACC players drafed in the past veNFL Drafs, 173, or 93 percent were still in the NFL aso May 1, 2015; 75.2 percent are still with the teamsthat drafed them.  Begining with the 2009 NFL Draf, current ACCschools have had nine wide receivers selected in therst round o the the NFL Draf, the most o anyleague.   Miami has had a player selected in every NFL

    Draf beginning with 1975, or 41 consecutive years.Virginia and Florida State have each had a playerchosen each year since 1983, or a total o 32 straightyears.    Te ACC began the 2015 Draf in a strongashion with three players chosen among the rst nineand six o the rst 19 players drafed.   Te ACC had the Alpha and Omega o the 2015NFL Draf. Te ACC had the rst player chosen inFSU QB Jameis Winston, and the last player drafedin“Mr Irrelevant”, Louisville E Gerald Christian, the256th and nal player selected.

    Louisville’s DeVante Parker and Miami’sPhillip Dorsett made the ACC the onlyleague in the nation with two WRs in the

    rst round o the 2015 NFL Draf.

    Since the 2006 NFL Draf the ACC has had 24 deensive ends or outside linebackers--the glaour positions o deense--selected in the rst two rounds, ar and away the most o any conence in the nation during that time outdistancing the SEC (18), Big en (16), Pac-12 (11), the Big 12 and Big East with 6 each.

    Miami has had at least one player in every NFL Draf since 1974, a string o 41 consecu-tive years, the current longest streak in the ACC. Te next longest streak belongs jointly Virginia and Florida State, who each have had at least one player chosen in every NFL Dbegining in 1984, a span o 32 straight years.     In all, current ACC teams have had a total o eight players chosen as the rst overall selection in the NFL Draf, with the most recent being NC State’s Mario Williams, who wastabbed rst in the 2006 NFL Draf by the Houston exans. Miami (Vinny estaverde, 198ampa Bay; and Russell Maryland, 1991, Dallas) and Virginia ech (Bruce Smith, 1985,

    Buffalo and Michael Vick, 2001, Atlanta) each had two top selections while Virginia (BillDudley, 1942, Steelers) and Syracuse (Ernie Davis, 1962 each had one. Also, NC State’sRoman Gabriel, the No. 2 overall selection in the 1962 draf, was chosen No. 1 in the AFLDraf by the Oakland Raiders.

    Miami has had 11 players taken as the 7th overall pick or higher in the NFL Draf. FloridState is second with 10, ollowed by North Carolina and NC State with ve each and Vir-ginia with our players tabbed 7th or better. Miami has actually had seven (7) players takas the rst, second or third overall pick.
