DEVELOPMENT
Sara’s YMCA Opens
The YMCA of Greater Charlotte opened Sara’s YMCA, a 24,000-square-foot facility, in late February. The new Y features a dedicated hot yoga studio, indoor/outdoor athletic training space, expanded group exercise room, personal training space, nutrition and wellness offerings and grab ‘n go fare.
Brigham Building Complete
In November, Bissell Development completed the 287,507-square-foot office building at 11625 North Community House Road. Named in memory of Dr. Craig Brigham, the ten-story project was built to LEED® Gold specifications. We look forward to welcoming Wells Fargoto the Brigham Building in 2017.
New Traffic Light Coming Soon
A traffic light is being installed on North Community House Road at the access road located in between the Irby/Hayes and Calhoun/Everett parking decks and across from the Ballantyne Corporate Park Villas in early 2017.
SIGNATURE EVENTS
New this Year: BCP Social HourBallantyne Corporate Park hosted its inaugural community social hour in mid-October at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge South Lawn. Attendees enjoyed beer, wine, food, music by Pluto for Planet and mingling.

The Ballantyne Wellness Fair featured wellness-related local vendors and free health screenings in late October. The Pumpkin Carving Contest drew 24 entries.

Tenant Golf Nights at The Golf Club at Ballantyne continued to be popular from April through early September.
The Charlotte Chamber’s Ballantyne Business Bash drew a record crowd to network in June.
278 cyclists participated in May’s ADA Tour de Cure, raising nearly $118,450 for diabetes research, education and advocacy. Ballantyne Corporate Park held
several blood drives, saving up to 285 lives.
September’s ninth annual Isabella Santos 5K/10K Race for Kids Cancer had 2,100 participants and raised $305,000.
CPCC’s Ballantyne Center hosted a successful Come Tech Out Job Fair in mid-June.
Audubon Amphitheater hosted Endhaven Elementary’s GEMS Club for a presentation with Debbie Foster of Habitat and Wildlife Keepers (HAWK).
Charlotte Radiology’s Mobile Breast Center visited the Park to provide mammograms.
Ballantyne’s two Toastmasters groups continued to attract new members.
Just Fresh hosted its second annual putting contest in November. Congratulations to Zach Neal, who won free lunch for a year!

David Weekley’s annual Turkey Drive brought in 67,595 pounds of turkey and non-perishable items to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
Tenants got in the holiday spirit when Endhaven Elementary’s Harmony Club sang carols at Dalton Green and Knotts Green.

PARTNERING WITH THE YMCA
After celebrating the grand opening of Sara’s YMCA in late February, we provided a variety of experiences to energize the BCP community.
Run! Ballantyne
In May, more than 1,800 runners enjoyed the 12th annual Run! Ballantyne 5K/8K and 1-Mile Fun, raising $70,324 to support the Steele Creek YMCA Afterschool and Camp programs.
Training on Tap
Sara’s YMCA launched its newest event, Training on Tap, to benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign in October. Almost 400 people attended the fitness social hour that included various group workouts, music and great food and beverages from local restaurants and breweries.

The Cans for a Cause Drive collected more than 75,649 pounds of food to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
The Heineman Computer Drive generated 5,900 pounds of computer equipment for repurposing.
The Color the Park Drive efforts netted 33,114 school supplies to benefit Classroom Central.

New Swing Sets
Ballantyne Corporate Park installed four new swing sets at Our Park, Patrick Park, Kid Pond and Morrison Y Field #7.
New Bus Stops
CATS expanded bus service in Ballantyne Corporate Park. Two bus stops were added at North Community House Road in front of the parking deck adjacent to the Everett Building and in front of the Gragg Building’s parking deck. A bus stop was relocated to the northwest corner of Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Ballantyne Corporate Place.
Construction is underway on a new open space adjacent to 11001 Rushmore Drive. The park will be completed in early 2017.

The BCP Card Program welcomed 61 new business partners and unveiled a fresh, new look. Be sure to connect with your office manager to get your new card, as you’re required to show the card to save!
SUSTAINABILITYBissell continues to explore ways to strengthen sustainable efforts within our business community. We were honored to receive Duke Energy’s Diamond Level Operator Award for 37 commercial office buildings. The recognition was achieved through strong participation in Duke Energy’s Smart Energy in Offices (SEiO) campaigns throughout the year, dedicated to helping reduce energy consumption. In addition, we continued to convert significant amounts of lights to LED.

• The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge was named as one of the top hotels in the South by readers of Condé Nast Traveler. The hotel also debuted an enhanced South Lawn area, which has become a popular event venue.
• Gallery Restaurant continued to develop its handcrafted cocktail program as well as expanded its extensive whiskey collection, including unveiling The Ballantyne’s Maker’s Mark Private Select Whisky.
• The Spa at Ballantyne welcomed Spa Director Jana Powers and looks forward to debuting a new spa menu in 2017.
• The Golf Club at Ballantyne was recognized as one of USA Today’s 10 Best courses in North Carolina.
• Dana Rader Golf School enjoyed its affiliation as the Carolina’s only Golf Channel Academy. In 2017, Dana Rader will be inducted into LPGA’s Teaching & Club Pros Hall of Fame.
• Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Ballantyne received the prestigious Diamond Circle Award, recognized as one of only a handful of 946 U.S. Courtyard hotels.
• Staybridge Suites Charlotte Ballantyne received IHG’s Torchbearer Award, the company’s most prestigious honor, for excellence in service for the seventh time. Staybridge Suites is undergoing a major renovation and looks forward to introducing upgraded suites in mid-February 2017.
• Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne continued to raise the standards for excellence within the Aloft brand globally and ranked in the top 15 out of all Starwood (Marriott) hotels in North America for overall guest satisfaction.
