Modern composite doors are a combination of great looks and high performance, withstrength, low maintenance and, probably most important of all, superb energy efficiency.

The energy performance of the door is achieved by a combination of the latest technologies, which includes the glazing elements. With Energy+, we offer a range of decorative glass that will achieve some of the lowest U values in the industry and will significantly enhance the overall thermal performance of the doorset. This is achieved by the use of Pilkington K, low emmesivity glass and filling the airspace with Argon to reduce the heat loss through the glazed area.

All our units come with warm edge spacer as standard to reduce heat loss at the edges of the glass.

We offer Energy+ as an option on the whole range of glass and provide it as standard on our Signature ranges.

Security is one of the key features of modern composite doors and the use ofmulti-point locking systems and anti-bumplock cylinders has become a standardthroughout the industry.

The use of toughened glass in the glazingdetails is primarily for safety in the event ofbreakage and is, and does, offer a level ofstrength but is not a security glass.

With our Security+ option, all of the decorative glass designs featured in thisbrochure, are now available with a 6.8mmlaminated glass leaf, which meets the requirements of EN12600 and is requiredfor Secure by Design accreditation.

Most heat loss occurs at the edge of the glass. Super Spacer prevents heat loss, keeping your home warm.

In this catalogue, the glass options are all designed for a 44 thick door slab. However, with the introductionto the UK market of thicker doors up to 70mm thick, there is an increasing demand for thicker insulatedglass units. We offer our ‘As You Want It’ service on a large proportion of the range and you can specify:

Insulated Glass QualityAll our units are manufactured to the rigorous demands ofEN1279, the European Standard for Insulated Glass, and gas filledunits have also passed the 1279pt 3 testing for gas retention. Weare also accredited to ASTM 2190 under the Insulated Glass Certification scheme for North America. All our insulated glassunits are manufactured using warm edge spacer technology to reduce thermal transfer at the perimeter of the units and comewith a 10 year warranty.

Safety Glass StandardsToughened glass is tested and certified to EN12150 and laminatedglass to EN14449 standards. We only supply laminated glass unitswith 0.78mm interlayer which means it is P1A compliant and suitable for use in Secured by Design doorsets.

signature Art RangeOur range of Signature Art products are manufactured by traditional methods with individually hand cut glass surrounded byBrass or lead came and the decorative leaf is then encapsulatedbetween 2 layers of safety glass (either tempered/toughened glassor 6.4mm laminated glass). The glass has been tested to EN12150and EN14449 as applicable and the overall sealed unit to theEN1279 standard. As these items are manufactured using traditional art glass small seeds or blemishes in the glass are notdeemed to be a fault and actually add to the products traditionallook. The products are manufactured to exacting standards to reduce the amount of rattle that can occur when a door isslammed. All products are designed to ensure they pass our50,000 slam test without breaking.

etch and Fusion Art rangeThe Etch and Fusion Art range is manufactured either at our ownfacility or via a network of approved UK insulated glass manufacturers. These double glazed units are manufactured toEN1279 and the glass conforms to EN12150 or EN14449 for impact safety. Our Fusion Art designs are a combination of etchedeffect glass and hand made fused glass elements that are bondedusing high performance UV adhesives. The decorative leaf is normally the outer pane of an insulated glass unit. In the manufacture of Fused glass small bubbles do occur and are partof the beauty of the product, therefore small imperfections are notdeemed as faults.

Crystal Art rangeThe range of Crystal Art units are manufactured using technologyunique to us and are guaranteed not to crack, yellow or delaminate for a period of 10 years. The manufacturing methodsfor Crystal Art use liquid resin systems so occasional small airbubbles are inevitable and add to the appeal of the product. Ourproducts have been independently tested in accelerated UV testingchambers with no noticeable change to the product after 10,000cycling of high humidity and UV light.

Overlay Art rangeThe Overlay Art range is manufactured either at our own facility orvia a network of approved UK insulated glass manufacturers.These double glazed units are manufactured to EN1279 and theglass conforms to EN12150 or EN14449 for impact safety. All thematerials used in the manufacture of the Overlay Art ranges aremanufactured by RegaLead. The decorative design is on the outerpane of the insulated glass unit and we therefore recommend thatAntique or Brass coloured electroplated leads are used as they aremore weather resistant. These lead finishes should only becleaned with warm soapy water and the use of strong solventbased cleaners is not recommended. The coloured films used inthe designs are manufactured using high quality polyesters andUV stable inks and are guaranteed not to fade more that 10% fromtheir original colour over the 10 year warranty period.

Resin Art rangeThe Resin Art range is manufactured either at our own facility or bya network of approved UK insulated glass manufacturers. The outline resins are applied using computer controller machinerymanufactured by our own CadRam division to ensure an accurateplot of the design. The colours are applied later by hand and smallimperfections can occur in the paint which should not be deemedas a fault. The technology used is manufactured and supplied byCadRam and the materials have been extensively tested for weathering performance and durability on the outer pane of an insulated glass unit. The colours are guaranteed not to fade morethat 10% from their original colour over the 10 year warranty period.

Door Blinds and ShadesThe range of Door Blinds are constructed as 26mm units and canonly be used with the glazing cassette supplied. The blind andshade systems are magnetically controlled and fitted inside thecavity of a certified toughened glass insulated glass unit. The products are guaranteed against discolouration and mechanicalfailure for 10 years for the blinds and 5 years for the shades. Theproducts are rigorously tested and in the laboratory are operatedthrough 10,000 cycles to ensure years of reliable operation.

Venting SashThe Venting Sash is a PVC sash window designed to fit into a standard ½ glazed door opening and is only suitable for use with44mm door slabs. The product carries a 10 year guarantee covering mechanical performance, IG unit quality and water resistance. The product is supplied as a complete system withoutthe need for a glazing cassette and therefore is only available inwhite. The Glass units in the Venting Sash are manufactured usingwarm edge technology from Intercept as opposed to conventionalaluminium spacer bars and are certified. The complete systemhas been tested successfully to the Canadian standard CAN/CSAA440-M90 standard which covers air and water infiltration, windload resistance, ease of operation and strength and resistance to forced entry.
