State Compensatory Education (Senate Bill 702) At Risk Indicators   Student Eligibility Criteria Student in PK, K, 1, 2, or 3 and did not perform satisfactorily on a readiness test or assessment instrument during the current school year;     Student in grade 7 to 12 and did not maintain an average equivalent to 70 on a scale of 100 in two or more subjects in the foundation curriculum during a semester in the preceding or current school year or is not maintaining such an average in two or more subjects in the foundation curriculum in the current semester;     Student was not advanced from one grade level to the next for one or more school years;     Student did not perform satisfactorily on an assessment instrument administered to the student under Subchapter B, Chapter 39, and who has not in the previous or current school year subsequently performed on that instrument or another appropriate instrument at a level equal to at least 110% of the level of satisfactory performance on that instrument;     Student is pregnant or is a parent;     Student has been placed in an alternative education program in accordance with Section 37.006 during the preceding or current school year;     Student has been expelled in accordance with Section 37.007 during the preceding or current school year;     Student is on parole, probation, deferred prosecution, or other conditional release;     Student was previously reported through PEIMS to have dropped out of school;     Student is of limited English proficiency; as defined in Section 29.052;     Student is in the custody of the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services or has, during the current school year, been referred to the department by a school official, officer of the juvenile court, or law enforcement official;     Student is homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 11302, and its subsequent amendments;     Student is the preceding year or resides in the current school year in a residential placement facility in the district, including a detention facility, substance abuse treatment facility, emergency shelter, psychiatric hospital, halfway house, or foster group home.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support – Strategies used on all elementary and junior high campuses. SB 490 – WISD has one part-time counseling coordinator, and 7 ½ counselors at the Elementary Level, 4 counselors at the JH level, and 6 counselors at the HS level. Our HS Counselors are funded with the High School Allotment funds.

For 17/18, we currently only have 1 coded at this time. Our 16-17 incidents were assault with bodily injury – Code 28 (4) & aggravated assault – Code 30 (1). All were student to student. Three boys and two girls. Our best prevention is communication and relationships with students, as well as PBIS. 7 discipline codes result in this label: murder, indecency with a child, aggravated kidnapping, assault other than school staff, aggravated assault against student, sexual assault/aggravated sexual assault of students, aggravated robbery.
