It was the first ever loss to the Lady Tigers and the third straight loss of the season for Union. Union has also lost six straight GSC road games on the season (0-6). Jada Smith led Union with 18 points, while Bria Gaines added a double- double of 13 points and 12 rebounds. Union connued their cold shoong with their sixth straight game of shoong below 39% from the field. The normally hot shoong Lady Bulldog squad has managed just one game over 30% from 3-point range in the last six games. Of the nine losses for Union, eight have been by 10 points or less, with two in overme. Union is 4-8 this year in games decided by 10 points or less, 2-4 in games decided by five points or less. Union has four players averaging double figures in points per game led by Bria Gaines with 15.2 points per game. Jada Smith is second with 14.4 points per game followed by Jada Perkins (12.1) and Chelsea Bodiford (10.9). Bria Gaines has connued to improve since joining the squad. She has posted two straight double-doubles to give her three on the season in 10 games with Union. Jada Perkins, the smallest player on Union’s squad at 5-foot-5, now leads Union with 7.3 rebounds per game. She has grabbed 12 and 10 in each of her last two games respecvely. She has reached double figures in rebounds five mes this season. AROUND UNION ATHLETICS: Union had eight student-athletes make GSC Fall All-Academic teams and 57 student-athletes make the GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll. All-Academic selecons included three from women’s cross country (Janey Berends, Abby Berends, Amy McKelvy), two from men’s cross country (Will Donelson, Jacob Whitney) and two from men’s soccer (Conner Burns, Rodrigo Zonta). Union baseball and soſtball open their seasons Feb. 4 on the road.
