The young boy who looked up at the silver haired man and asked,

“Grandpa why do we have to eat in the kitchen?”

“Joey this is where the chef works… this is also where he eats.

So naturally, this where the best food is served.”

30 years later, Chef Joseph Martin is still eating meals in a kitchen,

only now he’s the one preparing them. As Executive Chef for Levy

Restaurants at Staples Center Los Angeles, Chef Joseph prepares

specialty dishes for some of the world’s most recognized professional

entertainers and athletes. He’s built memorable meals for the likes of

Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, just to name a few.

The child who accompanied his grandfather on sales calls has come a

long way.

Joseph Martin, or “Joey” as his friends call him, was born into a culinary

family. His mother ran concessions for Santa Anita Race Track. His

aforementioned grandfather was one of Southern California’s top

producers and sellers of menus in the 1970’s and 80’s.

Joey’s mother may have planted the seed, but a young chef became

a master with hard work and dedication. Joey graduated from the

Southern California School of Culinary Arts in South Pasadena and

immediately joined the professional realm. He fed his fascination with

food working at every level in kitchen for the incomparable Ritz Carlton.

His career started as a cook/dishwasher in Naples, Florida. Over the

years, Ritz Carlton would promote and transfer their “rising star” to

positions in Washington D.C. and Vail, Colorado.

Of all of the opportunities that Joey found presented to him, the most

valuable was being able to move back home to California with Levy

Restaurants. Joey started as Executive Sous Chef at STAPLES Center,

where his hard work earned him the offer of a life time. Growing up

Joey always had a passion for two things, cooking and the Los Angeles

Dodgers. It was a dream come true to be the Executive Chef at Dodger

Stadium. Joey’s story would only continue get better as he was asked

to bring his passion to STAPLES Center and Microsoft Theater as the

Executive Chef. Joey’s story continues… with you and this menu.

Chef, Joseph Martin, created a complete menu featuring a

selection of chef designed packages and à la carte menu

items. The menu features classic event-day fare and all

your favorites along with some new items including Little

Italy Package, Char Sui Chicken Noodle Salad and Charred

Marinated Steak Sandwich to name a few.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE ORDERINGIn ensuring the highest level of presentation, service and quality, we ask that you contact our event sales department one week prior to the event. All food and beverage selections (including special liquor requests) must be confirmed 4 days prior to the event date, otherwise, orders are subject to a 10% late fee. Payment in full is due 2 business days prior to the event. If for any reason an event is canceled (cold, snow, rain, etc.) and the arena does NOT open, you will not be charged for your food and beverage order. If the gates to the arena open for ANY amount of time and the event is canceled (time restrictions, cold, snow, rain, etc.) you will be charged fully for your food and beverage purchase.

Please notify us as soon as possible of any cancellations.Orders canceled by 4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time 2 business days prior to the event will not be charged.

Because Levy Restaurants exclusively furnishes all food and beverage products for the Event Suites at STAPLES Center, guests are prohibited from bringing personal food or beverage without proper authorization.

ASSESSED CHARGESPlease note that all food and beverage items are subject to a 21% service charge plus applicable California state tax.

• While all food and beverage orders at STAPLES Center include a 21% service charge, it does not go directly to the server.

• This service charge contributes to higher hourly wages for the entire Levy Restaurants staff at STAPLES Center in order to provide you with the highest level quality and service.

• If you would like to reward your server for exemplary service, a gratuity may be added. Please feel free to speak to a manager for further clarification.
