January 21, 2015 This is an exciting time for the Trinity Corridor. In the next few months, we expect completed Environmental Impact Statements for both Lakes and the Parkway. Many amenities, projects and facilities are complete, and others are under construction. Soon after that, the Records of Decision will be issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and by the Federal Highway Authority. Dallas will know for sure how it can proceed with making these components of the Trinity dream a reality. Appropriately, the Trinity Commons Foundation will hold its Annual Luncheon on April 14, 2015 at the Fairmont Hotel. Mayor Rawlings will speak, and Larry Beasley, an internationally respected urban planner, will once again deliver our keynote address. Mr. Beasley will discuss, among other topics, the Trinity Design Charrette, the potentially game- changing effort by a group of nationally renowned park, transportation and economic development leaders to examine the Environmental Impact Statements and the City’s Balanced Vision Plan in order to provide suggestions on how to create a Parkway compatible with the Trinity park; how to connect the Parkway, park and downtown; and how to encourage economic growth along both sides of the Trinity Corridor. The Trinity has the potential to solidify Dallas amongst the first tier of American cities. We hope you will join us to learn firsthand about that potential. Please confirm your participation by filling out the enclosed form or by going to www.trinityriverdallas.org . Your participation will allow the Trinity Commons Foundation to continue taking an active role in programs like the Design Charrette. We will continue to engage the public in cleanups and planting native vegetation along the Corridor and in events such as the Trinity Levee Run, the Trinity Photo Contest and the Trinity Wind Festival. Who else organizes yoga classes on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and bike rides on the maintenance roads on top of the levees? Join us on Tuesday, April 14 th as we take the next steps in the Trinity Transformation. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring that the Trinity Corridor fulfills its potential for generations to come. Sincerely, Sincerely, Sincerely, Ginger Hardage Marvin Singleton Robert J.
