– Develop relationships with professors– Join student organizations – Initiate informational interviews– Seek a mentor

College professors and professional student organizations are great resources for job referrals, recommendation letters, and networking!



Class 5 – 6 (Freshman/Sophomore)3. Taste a Piece of the Pie

– Volunteer – Job Shadow– Intern– Work Part-Time – Freelance

Experience is a great tool for career readiness. Scholars should find out if the career they imagine or the companies they long to

work for are the best fit for them!



Class 5 – 6 (Freshman/Sophomore)4. Self-Awareness

Key Questions:– What do I enjoy doing?– What am I passionate about?– What could I do for free?– What are my strengths?

The question should not be “What do I want to be?” rather… “What problems do I want to solve?”



Class 5 – 6 (Freshman/Sophomore)5. Attend Career Fairs

– It’s never too early to attend!– Dress professionally/be well groomed– Bring copies of a one-page resume– Business cards are a plus!– Be prepared with 30-second elevator speech– Follow up with thank you cards/emails

Be prepared! Some employers may host on campus interviews immediately after the career fair.

• 8 week, paid summer internship• Will work closely with KSI and the Education Team • 10 scholars selected

Eligibility Requirements:• Class 2 - 6 scholars only• Resume and cover letter required• Scholar must be in Good Standing with KSI
