English language lessonsAt Earlscliffe, we test each student’s level of English shortly after arrival and then place them in a class accordingly. Our qualified teachers deliver twenty lessons (16 hours) per week to average class sizes of fifteen. The morning lessons focus on reading, writing, speaking and listening, and our afternoon ‘Active English’ session gives students a chance to acquire and strengthen language skills as they participate in various interactive sessions throughout their stay, such as drama, music, sport and arts and crafts. Teachers use a variety of materials and resources to engage students interest and enhance progress. Students are given an Earlscliffe Summer Workbook. All students receive a certificate of course completion and an English language report at the end of their stay.

AccommodationA large investment saw a complete renovation and refurbishment of Earlscliffe in 2012-14. The rooms are spacious and most are twin-bedded with private WC and bathroom. All rooms are Wi-Fi connected.

Meals and snacksMeals are taken in the college dining room and prepared by our own chef and team. Meals are varied and often international, such as Chinese, Mexican or Indian, but not forgetting occasional British fish and chips!

SportsStudents play badminton, basketball, billiards and table tennis on-site at Earlscliffe and within walking distance we have football, tag rugby, cricket, other field games, swimming, tennis, squash, a fitness gym and dry slope tobogganing. These sports are offered from mid-afternoon, after the day’s lessons have finished.

TripsStudents visit various London attractions each Wednesday such as The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum. Sunday trips include visits to Canterbury and Leeds Castle.

Other trips included in the programme are ten pin bowling, lazer rush, karting and cinema trips.
